I think offhand strike wouldve been so fun. That or something that turns it into First Curse when ADS.

Edited by Griever: 11/4/2026 4:50:40 AMIt really does. People can complain about how strong Last Word is all they want, but I'd love to know how many can consistently kill a player in fewer than 5 shots or even 3 without Lucky Pants or Dance Machines. I'm of the belief that if I'm in range for the reticle to change color, that should mean I'm within the optimal range, and in a game with bullet magnetism should basically be guaranteed to hit where I'm aiming. But it frequently gets ghost rounds, not to mention it has barely half the target acquisition it's technically supposed to since it's a 180 in the database. And as a hip fire weapon is less reliable by default. But as for the catalyst? They already gave Killing Wind to Thorn as well as a less restrictive version of Envious Assassin to Thorn as well as stat boosts. What did TLW get? * Killing Wind. 20 range is 2 meters, the handling isn't all that valuable because you already have it out and shouldn't need to swap unless you run out of ammo. And if you're swapping mid-fight, you should've already lost because the other guy has already multiple shots on you before you do. Otherwise you're just getting behind cover as you swap and the handling did nothing for you. And you shouldn't need the bonus mobility because there's little to no reason NOT to use mobility mods in pvp. * Envious Assassin? I'm fine with this on a special, but not a primary. I make my builds primarily with the weapon I want to use in mind, this just encourages using it as a secondary, pairing it with another primary dominated by special weapons. So it got one perk it really only gets 1/3 of the benefit from, and it got another perk that encourages you to use it less. We waited since season 5 and this was the best they could give it? I can't tell if they actually thought it'd be a good match to give it a downgraded Thorn catalyst + the buff Thorn got that season to overflow the mag, or if they're THAT terrified of it breaking something? They couldn't give it a stat boost? Offhand Strike or Threat Detector (it's fall off starts at like 16 meters, Threat Detector works at 15), it's own version of Rapid Hit that builds off of it's intrinsic trait? Not even give something similar Dead Man's Tale Cranial Spike or it's catalyst which is also bad as a hip fire weapon when you seemingly perfect accuracy to use it? One of my favorite weapons since D1, nerfed so many times I rarely use it any more, and they practically violated it just by giving it such a worthless catalyst after TWENTY FOUR SEASONS. Technically more if we count all the delays and the fact episodes all lasted 1-3 months longer than seasons did.

100% agree. Offhand strike was a no brainer… not surprised Bungie fumbled it.
