Is the vibe I kind of got from the blog post...
I've bought marathon already, but I do want Destiny content to get unvaulted. So should i buy marathon again?
Thanks

7 RepliesReally don’t get what the play is with the unvaulting. Especially with a 2028 date.

Someone posted a clarification of those comments regarding Destiny and Marathon. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/265363719/0/0/1

eliteg👎👎 PVP is in the shitter 👎👎 - 11/3/2026 1:37:16 AM
When they add PVE and PVP to the extraction portion of Marathon... they then open it up for free to either everyone or D2 accounts.. for a year.. thats the play... and then numbers spike... and the do or die becomes the pay to play transition the following year unless they spin something else up... ...heard it here 1st... lol... who knows but why not.. you can't survive as a studio with 3k players.. -
I'm not buying marathon no matter what happens with destiny. Have zero interest.

If they give me a free PS5 (with disk drive) I'll buy Marathon.

Even if Marathon popped up automagically on my console I would not play it. MAINLY because its neither my type of game I like and I HATE its whole graphical style. I personally find everything graphically done to be nauseating to my senses. That's just my personal taste and not hate of what Marathon did to Destiny (that's a whole different comment where nauseating mixes words like projectile!)

I wouldn't buy Marathon if it was offered on Steam 100% off. No thanks.

Regardless of what they do with destiny there is a 0% chance I buy marathon

1 ReplyWhen they use the money from destiny for everything but destiny, what makes you think they will use the money from marathon for destiny?

I’m not buying anything that I have ZERO interest in playing.

Bungie would make a lot of people happier by just dropping small updates right now. Even simple stuff like bringing back Festival of the Lost or Dawning would go a long way. They also really need to push out a few patches to fix the broken stuff in the game. It would at least make it feel like Bungie actually cares and is still present. Right now it just feels like we wait forever and get nothing in return. Don't get me wrong, getting unvaulted content back is huge, and who knows what other surprises they have coming. I'm just glad this wasn't actually the end of the line for the game. As for Marathon, that's a whole different story. I get why Bungie wants it to succeed considering how much time and money they put into it, but I tried it a few times and it just feels too weird. The world feels empty and it's confusing to figure out what to do. Honestly, that's just the core problem with extraction shooters in general. You spend half the time crouching in rooms hoarding random crap from tables and cabinets instead of actually fighting people. If I wanted to play an inventory management simulator, I'd play something else. I just want solid gunplay without the constant looting headache, and having to pick up junk all the time is just way too distracting.

Nope. Not supporting a game I have zero interest in ever playing.

No thx. Absolutely hate marathon. Played the server slam. If Sony puts it on plus I would refuse to have it in my library.

That’s not what they said though. Josh even explicitly said the opposite it a later com.
