Do you think Dean is letting himself be used as fodder for Sony Corp?

Invent the doomer reality you aim to evangelize? What do people actually think? That Dean is just going to do a blog post every 3 months for 18 months... 2 years... While we wait? I heard him say, [We'll talk more about it when things are closer to being done]. Isn't that what he communicated? It was. And he said February? I give that a 3-month buffer. Which he already indicated for right? A "celebration" update that is as robust as the monuments update? 😇👍💠 To add, for those that don't want to get wrapped up in the negativity or are cautious to get any hopes up... Let's do some Sesame Street ****, lol. Let's count it out. Greenlight go in June? Yes. June, July, August, September, October 5 Sunday is November 1st. November, December, January 3 More details in February 8 months after production was scoped and greenlit by Sony. February 1 Then that 3-month buffer I mentioned. March, April, May 3 5+3+1+3 = ?? 12 12 months since production was greenlit would be the end of May. Guardians. 😇👍💠

As much as I love destiny, I think remasters and bringing back old stuff, signals zero ideas from management, don't be shocked if none of this happen. Aztecross pitches a d1 remake, and every other creator falls in line.

    • Didn't you say your friend dev from Bungie could do it in 3 months?

    • With everything that has been communicated, and I may be in the minority here, I’m happy that the live service model for Destiny 2 is done, but that Destiny survives. I’m excited for the future. I’m gonna keep playing Destiny. Why would I stop now? lol But the live service model is -blam!- for everyone; both devs and players.

Thats an optimistic take again but nothing wrong with that... unless it comes out that there is indeed nothing out 1st half 2027 imo. This comes from communicating, (granted with the information they may have at the time, not wanting to overcommit, being genuine to the progress) .. without clarity. Thats ok... you can be unclear with delivery/commitment but you have to understand the drawbacks of that. People will assume the best and the worst.. both can be bad. Its just humanity... I have fun in the game.. I'll wait.. its goin well.. I'm having NOT fun in the game... I will be upset and think these guys are gonna fumblerooski again. This game, Destiny 2 has 100,000 concurrent hourly peak (within 7 days): https://popularity.report/ and Marathon with most on PC has around 3000: https://steamdb.info/app/3065800/charts/ and I'll include D2 steam just to be thorough although less users still 10x more lol: https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660 Lets do some Sesame Street -blam!- =). What is bigger. What is much bigger? What is soo much bigger its insane to be focusing on that other thing. 100,000 or 3000? Thats why you've got Oscar the Grouch's and not many Elmo's drinkin the kool-aid. If I was Sony I would slap Bungie so hard they might actually gain some business sense. Someone has got to figure out the financials if they can't monetize 33x more players in one property vs another. Anyway we'll see if it get clearer going forward.. but for me the game has been kinda fubar the last 2-3 weeks so I am not in the happy camp although naturally an optimist.

      • Are you referring to the 12 months mentioned in the blog post? It said preproduction ends roughly Jan/Feb and:
From that point we expect full production will be about 12mos. to fully complete the porting process. It’s a lot of content.
I do anticipate content to fill the gap, whether that’s the celebration they mentioned, or the stuff they have in “the basement”, or the unvaulted content being delivered in chunks (with the final chunk expected in 2028).
