Supposedly, the destinations aren’t even returning, just the campaigns, missions, and activities that go with the destinations, but that’s it.
Pretty excited that I was finally able to roam around in Titan but guess not anymore

That’s a “stretch goal”. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a kickstarter link provided next week. I do wonder about the additional storage requirement this is all going to need, particularly if that “stretch goal” is met.

1 ReplyThey directly said the post that patrol zones are a stretch goal for them, meaning they want to bring them back but don't think they will within the timeframe of the rest of the content. And I'd rather them not try to shove a ton of half-baked stuff into such an important release, that stuff can wait until after the main unvaulting is done.

It's really just more of the same old Bungie, making promises when they're not even sure they can keep them. They literally said a month ago that the destinations were among the things they intended to bring back, and now they're saying it's not guaranteed. That's why I have mixed feelings about the unvaulting; on one hand it'll be good to make the game whole again, but if there are things that are going to be left out, the game will still feel incomplete.

Edited by eeriearcade: 10/30/2026 7:02:27 AM
Beyond this first pass, we're also investigating content that we're defining as stretch goals at unvaulting launch or after. For example, we know aspirational content like legacy Raids needs a deeper chase even if we may not able to address it upfront. As we get closer to unvaulting we’ll be able to provide stronger insight into these areas: - Free Roam Destinations (Public Events, Lost Sectors, Escalation Protocol, etc.) - Seasonal Activities from Sundial (Season 9) to The Coil (Season 23) - Raid and Raid Lair Weapon updates - PvP Maps
https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/bungiecommunityupdate_10_27
