Hello Bungie Support Team,
I am attempting to set up Cross-Save to play Destiny 2 on PC, but I am completely stuck at the authentication phase due to an account access issue.
The Problem:
Primary Progress: My main characters (Warlock, Hunter, Titan) and history are on my Xbox profile.
Deleted Microsoft Account: The Microsoft/Hotmail account originally associated with this Xbox profile was deleted. As a result, I cannot complete the required Xbox authentication prompt on the Cross-Save setup page.
Legacy Steam Account Linked: My Bungie profile is currently linked to an old, unused Steam account . Because the system requires authentication on all linked platforms before making changes, I am unable to unlink this legacy Steam account to connect my active Steam profile.
Current Account Status & Access:
I have full access to my primary Bungie.net profile via my linked Twitch account
My registered Bungie email address is verified and active on Gmail.
Request:
Since I cannot authenticate through the deleted Xbox email, I need official support assistance to manually unlink the legacy Steam account and help me resolve the Xbox authentication blocker so I can link my current active accounts for Cross-Save.
Thank you for your help!

1 ReplyHey there, just splitting the issue into two components, 1 - Deleted Steam account - for an issue of that nature, please raise a request through the privacy request form - https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024632-Contact-Form-Data-Privacy-Requests 2 - Xbox account - When you attempt to sign in to Bungie.net using your Xbox account, you're redirected to Microsoft's own authentication portal. Microsoft handles the login process and then confirms to Bungie whether the account has been successfully authenticated. If you're unable to complete that process, you'll need to work with Microsoft Support to recover access to your Xbox account. This isn't a restriction imposed by Bungie that they can simply remove or override. Bungie requires Microsoft to confirm that you've successfully authenticated as the account owner. Losing access to the email address originally associated with the account shouldn't, by itself, prevent you from recovering the account through Microsoft's supported methods.
