What stats should I be aiming for?

I’m a strand hunter playing comp. I want to max out weapons. I love speed and agility, so a high grenade (grapple) stat would be great too (but I can compromise a little bit on that one). I want to be able to use my super (currently all matches end before I get it). How important is health in PvP? Any advice gratefully received.

These are the sweet spots for PVP: >/= 150 Health - A "must-have" stat for PVP. There are diminishing returns after around 170 Health, but it is still good all the way up to 190 or 200. </= 70 Melee - Choose this based on your build or playstyle. There are diminishing returns from 30 to 70, and 71 to 100 does basically nothing to the cooldown. </= 70 Grenade - Choose this based on your build or playstyle. There are diminishing returns from 30 to 70, and 71 to 100 does basically nothing to the cooldown. =100 Super - Choose this based on your build or playstyle. 100 super is optimal, because it becomes exponentially better the more you put into it. Do not exceed 100. >/= 70 Class - Choose this based on your build or playstyle. 70 is considered a decent "break-point" due to diminishing returns, but 100 is also a good number, esepcially if you use an Exotic that triggers off your Class ability. 140 Class is popular on Hunters, because the Ovsrshield it gives you allows you to survive 180 3 taps and 120 with PI 3 taps. >/= 0 Weapons - This is all build-based. If you value Handling and Reload, you could increase this up to 100. If you value weapon damage, you could go over 100. In general, players only use high weapons if they are also using a Weapon that greatly benefits from it (for example, Bygones with Stopping Power + 190 Weapon stat). EDIT: You usually have around 540 points to spend, but some of that depends on subclass bonuses. Also, you have to spend a minimum of 25 points per stat, but you can "tune" 25 points out and move them to other stats. A "balanced" build with optimal ability spam might look like this: 200 Health 70 Melee 70 Grenade 100 Super 100 Class 0 Weapons Also, sometimes it is beneficial to push a stat very high for a sepcific build. For example, if you usea glaive, you might prefer a 190+ Melee stat, so you can 2-hit players for a kill.

Melee whatever. Probably around 70 is where you’ll end up. Health is the most important stat, so you want that over 100 as high as you can get it. Weapons you don’t need at all, unless you are using one of a few builds, in which case you ignore health instead. Health and weapons are only good in pvp above 100, so if they aren’t your focus, get em close to 0 and use tuning mods to put their points into other stats.

          • Been playing for over 6k hours . Health is the new resilience and you don't need it to do anything in the game . I have shot people with 20 health stat and with 200 health stat and it takes the same amount of bullets , yes the ones with 200 health stat get a small overshield really quick but the game cannot register it if you keep shooting them and the pvp people don't even realize it so they invest in as much health as they can get but it does nothing . Same with weapons . You are not gonna do more damage if you have a high weapon stat . So invest in fast ability and super regen instead wich is the only thing that really matters in pvp tbh but use whatever you want . This is just my opinion 😉

            • Since melee is your least important stat, id recommend you put 100 into Super and get as close to 100 grenade as you could. The rest of your point should go into class given it’s one of the more important abilities on Hunter within PvP, whereas titans and warlocks receive Les of a reward for using theirs in spite of their respective power.

I run health 200, class next highest and melee around 100 and can have a good time in PVP.. it used to be super but man I hate the supers in PVP and with an overshield from my rift as a voidlock I get to survive a bit more... melee is wonderful for voidlock Weapon stat is for youtubers to say look at this new video I can achieve a better ttk or 3 shot with no PI 180.. and folks who like that... when I see a high weapon stat player I personally think -blam!- - hole doesn't want to play fairly and worships kill chaining and cant face people outside unless they earned a medal in PVP... LOL ...but dont mind me as I think that of people who use exotic weapons and gimmicky things and stacks...etc in PVP are in the same bucket and I realize that is like more than 50% =) btw I do get my super still by end of match or earlier depending how I'm doing

                • Weapons essentially does nothing in PVP barring a few very niche archetypes that have their TTK's lethality increase. Otherwise it is a complete skip stat. Regarding your Super, high regen is the key. You don't really need more DPS from it in PVP, so I'd just shoot for 100 (ie maximal uptime) and call it a day. Regarding grenade, lethality does scale above 100. If you're exclusively using it for mobility, then 100 is fine. Otherwise I'd dive into Reddit and find what the breakpoints are for lethality, then chase accordingly. As for Health, it is generally regarded as the most important stat in PVP. 160 seems to be the lowest idealized stat. I wouldn't bother going too far above this unless you're in the upper elos. 160 is a fine target that will allow you to have higher returns across your other abilities. I'd aim for at least 70 Class while we're on the topic, as that is maximal cooldown efficiency. If you can make Orbs consistently, then chase 100 for that as well.
