Hey there, a connection issue may not necessarily lie between console and router - a wired connection is a good start but it won't prevent packet loss or other connection instability from further along the route. If you received a previous restriction for connection instability and didn't identify what was actually causing it, then unfortunately a subsequent restriction is likely to be for the same underlying issue. Clearing storage on the PS5 wouldn't affect your network connection. I'd suggest doing some proper connection troubleshooting rather than hoping the switch to wired has resolved it, particularly checking for packet loss, latency spikes and general connection stability - which may not be noticeable on other games, but Destiny 2's peer to peer multiplayer is more sensitive to these issues.
