I’m curious to hear what you all think. What do you think people at Bungie are doing right now at this moment when it comes to Destiny 2? I wanna know your thoughts.

Edited by MC 077 Lasombra: 10/1/2026 3:14:06 PMThey are trying to figure out what they can do with limited resources to pull people back. Unvaulting content isn’t going to pull in that many new people and not many older players are keen to replay them as you might think. The issue with vaulting was more principle than actual gameplay, they told us how few people played those zones when they were removed. So everyone who wants to reply with ‘I want to play it again’ needs to keep that in mind. Yeah guy some people do, hence why those zones had some usage but not much. It’s more nostalgia than anything that people want to replay them now If less than 5% of the playerbase is using a zone, there’s no real urge to play the zone. Let’s hope they got more cooking than that

1 ReplyProbably planning how to do what, & when, & sorting budget & staff & getting authorisation & making plans on paper & time projections. This decision was made & greenlit very quickly once given the go-ahead so it's guaranteed work hasn't started yet, nearly everyone is on marathon right now & that update is priority for December's release. We just don't know how hard it's gonna be to bring it all back, I remember holtzmann saying years ago that it took 3 months to rebuild one old PvP map into the new engine version & mentioned how the lighting was the biggest drain on time, & they said recently how lighting would need doing on all this stuff and it's not a simple copy paste, so it could be a good way off, but I guess we'll know more in a month.

I suggest it might be something like this video around 2.00 minutes in. I sincerely hope it isn’t like this. I hope all the panic and insanity has subsided. Time will tell. Come on Bungie, prove us wrong. For the sake of this wonderful franchise. And your jobs.

They’re probably all sitting in a room huffing each other’s farts. Only they could say, and if they said they weren’t would you believe them ?

My guess is they are doing next to nothing in regards to Destiny at the moment. The comms from Josh Deane last week indicate to me that all of the Destiny stuff is still exploratory. My theory (with no evidence) is that Bungie got the call from Sony to 'wrap up' Marathon, and roll over any unspent capital into 'reviving' Destiny. Until they get this next (possibly last) update for Marathon ready to ship, they don't know how much funding they have left to put into this Destiny 'revival'.

Stuff, most likely. Definitely things though.
