Visual Feedback: Give graphics options for reduced visual effects and graphics
PvP in Destiny 2 is incredibly fast paced. Too fast paced for many players. That is an issue on its own. Another however, which especially bothers people who have trouble with sensory overload, is that graphics and special effects in PvP can become so clustered and abrupt that it can disorient players and/or in worst case make them feel overwhelmed.
Destiny 1 PvP wasn't like this (framerate and FoV aside) mainly because the game had less explosions, less abilities, less "visual noise" going on in general.
Destiny 2 is a game with pretty good fidelity, no doubt. But it also bombards you with so much stuff in visual effects per minute that for some players it causes issues.
Specifically speaking in that regard for myself, when a lot of stuff is going on in a combat moment in PvP, I have trouble to process the displayed information simply because there is too much at once. As a result, I have a bad experience, one that makes me angry and upset because of a feeling of "powerlessness" and a problem with how the visual perception for me works in the game.
Similar troubles I have in games like World of Warcraft when playing high-intensive endgame content where a ton of spells visually get flung around and I basically can't discern ANYTHING due to all the visual chaos on screen.
It would really help if Destiny 2 would have game settings which allow to reduce the following visual gameplay graphics in complexity or rendering:
* Allied Gunfire (reduced)
(Includes Weapon fire, weapon projectiles, etc.)
* Allied Abilities (reduced)
(Includes Grenade, Melee, Class and Super Abilities)
* Combatant Gunfire (reduced)
(Includes Weapon fire, weapon projectiles, etc.)
* Combatant Abilities (reduced)
(Includes Abilities such as Hive and Taken Abilities, Fallen Shock Mines and Grenades, Special Affixes and Champion Abilities)
* Enemy Player Gunfire (reduced)
(Includes Weapon fire, weapon projectiles, etc.)
* Enemy Player Abilities (reduced)
(Includes Grenade, Melee, Class and Super Abilities)
I am mere 27 years old, yet sometimes have struggles in this game I should first encounter at the age of like 40-50 upwards. As I said, Destiny 2 looks visually really great. For a viewer. When you play it yourself, it can be overwhelming.
There is nothing wrong with giving options to reduce visual spam on the screen.
