Red war ?
I thought when they were getting sued for copyright infringement Red war, they said it was deleted and could not get it back. But I could be wrong

2 RepliesPreface- i didn’t follow the case too much. But my understanding is that they only said it wasn’t in a condition compatible with the current engine. So that’s why they couldn’t use it in court (and the court didn’t accept other publicly available gameplay of it from back then). If i’m wrong, can someone please provide any evidence for me to review?

Bungie has made it clear in new court filings that the original Destiny 2 “Red War” campaign isn’t just gone for players, it apparently no longer exists in a playable form within the studio itself. The company says the game’s original story mode, which was removed in 2020, is now completely inaccessible.

I guess the janitor stumbled upon the backup disks hidden in a box marked "Kitchen" or something. Either that or what sounded like a stupid lie (to me anyway) turned out to be a stupid lie. Whatever the case, happy to hear they intend putting everything back in place.

I followed the case. The lawsuit was BS. Not having a playable build is different than having the assets or data.

Nor will Bungie be able to produce the accused campaigns in operable or reviewable form if this matter proceeds to formal discovery.”

4 RepliesThey ended up settling... meaning, they never proved whether they did or did not plagiarize the material, but they paid the guy to stop pursuing the lawsuit... and now the "case" is closed. So, idk if they can now say "Oh hey, we found the Red War stuff" and since the case was already settled, there can be no more litigation regarding the plagiarism ...
