Your unlocks and progress on it stays unlocked but you cannot equip/use it on Xbox until you own Final Shape. The subclass will either be greyed out in the menu or you'll be put into a bugged subclass state (you wont see any subclasses in game) in which you need to use loadouts or companion/third party apps to equip a subclass you can use on Xbox.
