Hello Bungie, I wanted to share an idea for the future of Destiny. If the next Destiny is a new beginning, I think there could be a way to respect the history of our Guardians without simply transferring our entire Destiny 2 vault. 🔨 The Legacy Forge Instead of carrying every weapon directly into the next game, our old weapons could become Historical Weapons. For example: Gjallarhorn → Historical / Decommissioned → Level: Legacy → Cannot be used at full power yet → Can be reforged at the Legacy Forge The player could then recover the weapon through a blueprint, memory, or historical pattern and rebuild it using the new crafting system. ⚙️ How it could work Destiny 2 weapon ↓ Historical weapon ↓ Recover its blueprint ↓ Gather materials / complete an activity ↓ Reforge it ↓ New-generation version This would allow Bungie to reset weapon progression while still making players feel that their old weapons were not erased. 🏛️ Raids and Dungeons could become part of this Old raids and dungeons could return as Historical Archives. Completing them could unlock blueprints for their iconic weapons. For example: Last Wish → Historical weapon blueprints King's Fall → Historical weapon blueprints Vault of Glass → Historical weapon blueprints And so on. This would give players a reason to revisit legendary activities while preserving their place in Destiny's history. ⭐ Iconic weapons could receive special treatment Not every weapon needs to return. But some weapons are more than loot. Gjallarhorn. Thorn. Ace of Spades. Outbreak Perfected. Izanagi's Burden. And many others. These could have special Legacy Quests allowing us to restore them to their former glory. The idea would be: «We don't keep our old power. We reclaim our old legends.» 🧑‍🚀 And one small personal idea... If Bungie ever liked this concept enough to use something similar, I'd love one little Easter egg: A Forge NPC could carry the name of the player who originally proposed the idea. Something like: [PLAYER NAME] — Keeper of the Legacy Forge It wouldn't need to be a major character. Just a small tribute hidden inside the game for the community. Because after years of playing Destiny, getting to see your own name inside the world you've spent so much time in would be an unforgettable reward. --- This isn't a request to keep everything. It's a suggestion for a way to let Destiny 2 become history without making it feel forgotten. Our weapons can be retired. Our power can be reset. But our legacy should remain. Eyes up, Guardians.
