Still having some fun, but you really do have to back out and leave some of these. Also had to switch to my Hunter again because it's just that kind of nastiness.
Catching winning streaks works, but the first I log on it seems like it's an endless array of predetermined losses as the algorithm is broken. Just back out until you finally reach some kind of more balanced gameplay consistently.
Also, 6v6 has again made the game something it should not be on a decent bit of maps. Most were never designed for it. Spawns are awful, broken, or worse. 5v5 max and 4v4 on a lot of maps would have made the game way more playable even in this era. New players would probably enjoy it more as well. At the least this vast team imbalance is something that kills the experience too often. Even when I am winning it often feels cruel and pointless. I feel like if teams were more able to compete equally this would still be one of the best shooters on the market even for new players.
This combined with Tribute, a game mode that is completely awful if the teams are not VERY balanced, and Control has made the lower populations in matchmaking a complete borefest. It's a mercy in too many games. There could not be a worse algorithm than what they have going right now.
I have picture after picture of average KDs on a team being 3 vs .4 lol. You simply cannot match teams like this and expect a game to be anywhere even near coherent. Just back out take a penalty do something else and maybe try again until I give up.
I'm trying to play my Rime Warlock, which is usually very good with helping a team, but it's nearly pointless in these losses. Gotta max that Hunter I guess. Whatever. Hopefully, the rumors are true and D2 will get some kind of update however small.

Edited by NotCreative123: 8/31/2026 4:57:13 AMSnowballing is the norm in D2, and even a small advantage cab turn into a big one. Plus, anyone can have a bad game. If you want to know if teams were balanced, go look at the average K/D / win rates of every player on each team and see how they match up. It does not matter what the end result of 1 game is. If you want more balanced gsmes, go play Control. Having a loose form of SBMM helps take pressure off the lobby balancing formulation. Finally... Stop leaving games. It is a scummy move. If you can't handle that you might lose, then don't play. In fact, I hope Bungie starts adding perm bans for frequent quitters. EaDIT: Lol, and while I disagree that Hunters are OP in PVP in general, I absolutely agree they are OP in the Tribute game type. It is ridiculous how they can pick up orbs by dodging and they can bank while invis.

They might have left pvp in the state it is rn hoping that players might go to marathon. 🤔 Just a theory but makes sense given the situation.

Many of the more casual players have already gotten their rolls and titles in IB. So we have lobbies that are 60% regulars who are in premade fireteams, and 40% casuals. Lobbies often end up worth the best player on one team with the rest being casual, against a team of above average to good players. So they basically get lobby balanced, and then look for another game if things don't open well. That's been the general experience all week, with only a handful of games really going down to the wire with fairly good balancing. That's the exception, where mercies are the norm. Mercy the other team, get mercies on, repeat...

It's boring, loads of players on scouts just sniping from across the map, few making plays, very little fun to be had. 🤷

What are you expecting?! No one is on IB probably just a couple of staff maintaining. PvP is what it is now ! IB is an awful experience now …just luck who you have on your team now . So many who don’t cap which is the main objective….who da funk they think they are 🙄😂 Donkeys
