I think it’s good for some things as long as it’s not everywhere ask for examples if needed

Overrated, it's a tool not a replacement for human works

I have no problem with AI technology. But the companies pushing AI and the whole industry and narrative surrounding the current implementations of AI - that I am totally against. Generative AI is a dumb implementation though. Like the only reason it exists is to replace humans in the creative industries and even if that isn’t realistic it’s still a shitty thing to even aim for.

2 RepliesIt's a great development accelerator. If you are not a developer though, you're going to have a bad time. It's basically a really really fast junior developer and if you let it make decisions you get junior developer architecture. I find it uncomfortable that it's used for so much art, since that means it's taking work away from actual artists (yay capitalism).

I’m concerned at how many people voted that they liked it…

Good in a lot of places. Not when you put an entire text into it and ask for an essay written on it and turn that in with your name. Just saying.

Worst thing about AI atm, is people who have no idea how it works and what it can do, but keep telling everyone they should use it because they are missing out. I use AI, I’ve been working as a data scientist for a decade. First off it’s a wide field, its not just LLM, and AI does work well under some circumstances, but it’s nowhere near as magic as 99.9% of the C-suits and exec believe it to be. And that’s the annoying part. When I started in the field, before LLM and the agentic hype, I had to convince exec that its was worth pursuing an AI project. Nowadays I have to convince them NOT to pursue every single AI project with “agentic” slapped on it.
