Cross Save PlayStation authentication failing on both website and app (ErrorCannotAuthorize)
Hey everyone,
I'm trying to activate Cross Save between my Steam and PlayStation accounts, but I can't authenticate my PlayStation account through any method.
Steam: already shows as AUTHENTICATED on the Cross Save setup page
PlayStation: cannot authenticate
What I've tried so far:
On bungie.net Cross Save setup page: clicking "AUTHENTICATE" on the PlayStation card, logging in successfully through the Sony portal, but then getting: "Authentication Error — There has been an error. Please try again later. The error code: ErrorCannotAuthorize"
Same result in an incognito/private browser window.
Through the Destiny Companion app: selected "Link to an existing account" → chose Steam (my already-linked platform) to confirm ownership of my existing Bungie.net profile, then tried to authenticate PlayStation. Got a different error: "These accounts cannot be linked — The same platform has already been linked to this account."
Both Steam and PlayStation are already correctly linked to my Bungie.net profile and appear on the Cross Save setup page, so I'm not trying to link a new account — just trying to authenticate the existing PlayStation link.
Has anyone run into this specific combination of errors, or does anyone know if this is a known server-side issue? Any help is appreciated.

2 RepliesWhen you log out of the Bungie.net website, please go to Sony's Playstation website and log out there as well. Then log in on Bungie.net using the credentials (don't use an auto or saved username/password, type it yourself so you are sure you're logging into the correct PSN ID). If you're using the actual PSN ID that you have linked to your current Bungie.net profile, then it will log you into this profile. If it does not log you into this profile, then you do have a different PSN ID linked than what you think you do.
