Every Sword.

Can I just ask why no sword in destiny 2 is capable of benefitting from ammo generation, or even at best doesn't have an ammo generation stat? Ammo gen mods dont do anything, finder mods don't do anything, and even armor sets like the one from gambit doesn't increase the ammo meter while using a sword. Literally takes almost 50 kills to get one brick no matter what you do. Unless you plan on only ever using praxic and encrypted data disc for eternity, every other sword is kinda -blam!- making any build for higher end content. Thank you much for the time. • From the Edge of Fate 9.0.0.1 patch notes:
Note: Due to a backend limitation, Swords do not currently have an Ammo Generation stat and will all deal the same amount of progress. This progress can still be scaled by Ammo Finders, though Ammo Generation-specific weapon and armor mods will have no effect.
Likely cause is that swords weren't built around having Inventory Size which was the stat that Ammo Generation replaced, so they launched without it. Given it had some way to mitigate it, it likely fell behind on priority compared to other things such as making sure the heat weapon system and other things were ready for Renegades. They then continued working on future content, while others worked on reprising content for Monument to Triumph which included weapons so it dropped even further down on the list of things to worry about, finally game went EoS which is where we're at now.

    • So... It's crazy... the weirdo lengths people go. And the reason why it annoys me, is the devs know better... but corp hats usually don't. The truth is your topic is a complete farce. Absolute BS. Because of the hate for the Praxic blade or people that use it. Like me, weird that coincidence. But what you don't know is I love ALL swords including Ergo Sum. I put the most basic of kits together. Ergo 200 weapons Sharp Harvest Unlimited Ergo and Heavy ammo. Not as generous as Praxic, but you can basically use Ergo as a primary. I spent like 1-2 hrs... and I never ran out of ammo. At 200 weapons Ergo gets a minimum of 15. Sharp Harvest gives it 3 per proc. Scavengers do NOT work for Ergo... or at least not at 200 weapons. Finders do work. I tested all of this.

In using it as a primary weapon? Another Praxic hater... how many topics are we going to get about what is an ad clear weapon? Ergo can do meta grade DPS that Praxic can't and the other swords are heavy weapons. And Ergo has ammo gen... all the swords do, Ergo ammo refresh has an intrinsic. Heavys have sharp harvest, relentless strikes... and more. You know these perks exist? There's a bunch. To opine further: How ammo gen works... Primary -> Special & Heavy Special -> Heavy Heavy -> Special Same/Same gen tic rates are low for everything without perks like Relentless Strikes, or the new ammo gen perks... set bonuses that buff the meter gains outside of the formula I described above. And in terms of free special, not much can match Sharp Harvest. If it didn't have to compete with Attrition Orbs or EE... a must have perk. Especially with 200 weapons... literally all you need to run dbl special is to equip a Sharp Harvest Sword. Might work for Ergo too... I haven't tried it yet.
