Request for clarification on accessibility device and reWASD use in Crucible

Hello Bungie, I am looking for clarification regarding Bungie's policy on external accessibility tools in Destiny 2, specifically when playing Crucible on PC. I have a disability that makes using a conventional physical controller difficult for me. I use an accessibility device whose inputs are recognized by Windows as a standard keyboard and mouse, but whose physical layout and controls have been modified from a conventional keyboard and mouse specifically to accommodate my disability. I would like to use reWASD to remap the inputs from this accessibility device into controller inputs. The configuration I am considering would be strictly 1:1 input remapping: Mouse movement → controller right analog stick WASD → controller left analog stick Individual keyboard keys → individual controller buttons Mouse buttons → individual controller buttons/triggers Every movement and button press would still be manually performed by me. The software would not perform actions on my behalf. I would NOT use: Recoil compensation Aim correction Automated aiming Rapid-fire Macros that perform multiple actions Automated movement AI assistance Any form of gameplay automation Any modification of Destiny 2's game files or game client My understanding of Bungie's current "Abuse of External Accessibility Tools" policy is that using an accessibility aid to enable someone to play Destiny 2 when they otherwise could not is not itself a violation, while using accessibility tools to gain an advantage over other players is prohibited. My concern is that Destiny 2 on PC already natively supports conventional mouse and keyboard input. However, my accessibility device is physically different from a conventional keyboard and mouse because it has been configured specifically to accommodate my disability. I therefore need to use the device's inputs in a way that allows me to interact with Destiny 2 through controller inputs. My purpose for converting the inputs to controller inputs is accessibility, not to obtain a competitive advantage. I would therefore like Bungie to clarify the following: Is a 1:1 remapping of this accessibility device's keyboard and mouse inputs into controller inputs through reWASD permitted as an accessibility accommodation? Is this permitted specifically while playing Crucible and other PvP activities? Does it matter that Destiny 2 natively supports conventional keyboard and mouse input if the physical device I use is an accessibility device with a modified physical layout designed to accommodate my disability? If reWASD creates a virtual Xbox/XInput controller and Destiny 2 receives the resulting inputs as controller inputs, is using that virtual controller itself prohibited? Does BattlEye or Bungie's anti-cheat system consider reWASD or a virtual XInput controller created by reWASD to be prohibited software or prohibited hardware when used strictly for this type of 1:1 accessibility remapping? If Bungie permits this use under its accessibility policy, could simply having reWASD running or having a virtual controller present result in a Crucible restriction or ban even though I am not using any macros, automation, recoil control, aim assistance, or other gameplay-enhancing functions? If reWASD is not an approved method, is there a specific accessibility solution that Bungie recommends for players who need to use an accessibility device that presents itself to Windows as keyboard and mouse but requires controller-style input mapping to play Destiny 2? I am asking before using this configuration in Crucible because I want to make absolutely certain that I am complying with Bungie's policies and do not want to risk an account or device restriction due to an accessibility configuration. If possible, I would greatly appreciate a clear answer specifically addressing whether this exact 1:1 configuration is permitted in Crucible. Thank you for your help.

  • The PC version of the game has Keyboard and Mouse support already. No remapping to controller is necessary for you to use your device to play the game. If you wish to map a key that's not mapped by default, you can do so within the game's settings. None of the above requires extra software.

  • Bungie isnt going to say yes to your request. IF they did and you got banned it would be a liability. The policy is, roll the dice if you feel your benefit is worth the risk.
