This doesn't mean the game can't be fun or worth your time. It means the matchmaking is very unstable.
Been playing tons of this game since the big patch, and I gotta say this week I think it's about done as a coherent and balanced experience. No longer will Crucible be getting many fair or decent matches. Bungie's algorithm is pure incompetence, and it's a small point as to why they are the company they are today.
No way new players will ever stay for this garbage. I can literally queue up a game that is already massively losing, break up the game, and then it will queue me back into an in-progress loss again. After that I might get a new game. With horribly balanced teams yet again.
This game has WAY too many 0-.5KDA players, and it feels like anybody over 1KD is being absurdly punished at times.
And that's when your population gets even worse as people fall off except for events. Same old song and dance. Reminds me honestly of after Shape, when people just said F it and quit the entire game because of how bad the whole thing was.
Oh well I guess. Feels like they could have curated PvP so much better for newer players. Even I am booting this up less and less because I don't have the need or want to play auto-losses, and if I leave I get a 5 minute penalty.
Game is going to shed a lot of players it feels like in the next months. At least it's holding decently strong, but you can feel it getting actively worse.
Still feels like their matchmaking algorithm is completely broken. Game after game it makes no sense to have the players it does on each team. That's just something that is not working properly.

1 ReplyOut of 15 matches tonight, 14 of them had me paired with the worst player in the server. I was never the worst player in the server either. I'd say my loss rate just tonight is like 75%. Almost an unbearable mess of games, and this community is beyond fried in the brain these kids can't play Control to save their lives. Literally, some of the dumbest kids to ever pick up a controller. I've never understood how this community has no idea how to win a Control game after a decade plus lol, but here we are. People can't even seem to win Control games when the two obvious bases to cap and protect are right next to each other. It's like they think they have to go in circles and die profusely to win the game. Muppets one and all.

3 RepliesFYI, Lobby Balancing is how teams are balanced, and it has nothing to do with matchmaking. So you are using an incorrect term when you are talking about how 0.5s are all on 1 team or lopsided games.

Yep ! Same people now so lucky to get a good game . Enjoy it while pvp is around . Not what the 25/7ers are gonna do 🤷🏼♂️

1 ReplyIt's all in the algorhytm. I'm compaining about this for years. Be glad that you just started to experience it. Untill 2022 my win ratio in Control was around 52%. After that my win-ratio is around 35%. It's a living Hell, playing this pvp. Unfortunally Destiny 2 is basically the only game I play. I will be releaved, when this game dies.

2 RepliesYou all are asking "Give me balanced matches, give me the close ones" and then "Oh no, I can't stay in a pvp match for 10 minutes, I dont have that kind of time! Bungie, fix my problem!"
-
1 ReplyIt's almost like they want people to play a different game for PvP. Maybe a game that's losing players rapidly 🤔

8 RepliesLuckily the devs always had PvP on top of their list when they still developed... Oh wait...

1 ReplyYes. Matching is awful. Connections awful. And matches seem to always be blowouts. Who wants to hang around in a match to be farmed?

TBH, I’ve only played PvP during IB.
