Personally, I think Renegades. Unpopular opinion, I know.

3 RepliesForsaken. The campaign was gripping. From killing a hated character to avenging the most beloved character in the game, it was a good time. •The Scorn was a fresh new faction. •The Dreaming City and Last Wish raid are a hit. •Discovering every wish on the Wish Wall was a huge community driven event (one that was finally completed years later when Bungie revealed the final wish). And of course the introduction of bows was fantastic. Using them in Destiny 2 has made me so happy, even to this day. My favorite weapon type without question. A bit before Witchqueen came out, I even got one in real life just because I vibed with them so much. The amount of bias that I have just from Forsaken introducing bows is high, but I still feel that Forsaken is the best expansion.

The Taken king trumps them all

2 RepliesBefore I vote, are we talking strictly about what launched with the campaign? Or the subsequent seasons that followed with said year, as well?
-
Final shape has its flaws but its soundtrack is rather memorable and prismatic is cool so that’s my vote witch queen is second for it’s soundtrack and the lucent hive being a challenging yet fun enemy type

Renegades wasn't even an expansion FFS 😆 it was a season pulled from final shapes year when we changed to episodes.

1. Forsaken 2. Witch Queen 3. Final Shape
Worst expansions go to Edge of Fate and Curse of Osiris
3 RepliesForsaken by a mile. That and the Red War were my favorite campaigns. Though I'd say Witch Queen is probably the best DLC in the post-DCV era.

Hands down it is TWQ. All of the in game changes that accompanied it were massive improvements. Weapon Crafting. Weapon Focusing. 3.0 Subclasses. Lucent Hive. The seasons were immaculate- Risen; Haunted; Plunder; Seraph. Actual new content week to week. Dares overhaul. Nightmare Containment. Wellspring. Ketch Crash. Just an insane lineup of content that held incredible depth. The seasons were literally better content and held longer activities than most of the DLCs that followed. The fact that each season was surrounded by a new subclass made it even more amazing!

4 RepliesWhile not the best, I feel Beyond Light is probably the most underappreciated DLC. Only reason it got as much hate as it did was because it got stuck with the DCV and Sunsetting.
-
1 ReplyI wasn't around for Forsaken so my choice is The Final Shape with Witch Queen and Beyond Light close behind.
-
2 RepliesRenegades story was like ten minutes long ... anyways, I think the Witch Queen is their best. Forsaken was pretty good, and the Final Shape was terrible imo. I was so annoyed with that expansion that I took my headphones off before the boss fight, I don't even know if there's any dialogue, and I don't really care.

1 ReplyEdited by Punisher of Porcelain™: 8/7/2026 2:27:53 PMRise of Iron may have been mid, but it holds a special place in my heart Destiny 2 wise, LIGHTFALL could’ve been good if it wasn't...y’know.

FWIW: a new expansion was always a delight…to explore the new environments and discover the many hidden secrets…at least, it was for me. Obviously, some were ‘better’ than others, even though I’d be hard pushed to recall them by name, as memory for this old tortoise is a bit sketchy at times… Instead, I think Lightfail was memorable, though for all the wrong reasons. The epic 12-Guardian mission and its following cutscenes were one of my all-time favourites! Despite all of the highs and lows we endured since D1Y1, I enjoyed my time in game. That is all. Ease Springs! 🖖👻 MTFBWY

I voted Forsaken. Worst for me was Edge of Fate. It’s the only one I haven’t played further than the first couple of missions.

😭 Curse of Osiris...-blam!- I'm dumb.
