I've been playing destiny for 11 years now, and matchmaking has always been a problem, but now it's nearly impossible to find a match and complete all the comp objectives. I want to get the I AM THE CRUCIBLE emblem but I can't even find 77 comp matches. I live in South Africa, and when my friend and I matchmake for comp, we get mongoose every single time. We would matchmake for an hour or more straight but still find no matches, we have to resort to hopefully finding people who live in the US or europe to matchmake for us, but it isn't easy. We always have to spend a long time looking for a host because we can't matchmake on our own servers. I'm not sure how the matchmaking works per region, but please if there's anyway to make the matchmaking better I hope it can be done. At least so that I don't get mongoose 4 to 6 times in a row. It doesn't need to be 1sec, instantaneous matchmaking like in the U.S., but 5 minutes would be great. Suggestion: Maybe when there aren't enough people found on my server within the first minute of matchmaking, then the matchmaking can branch out to other servers that are more populated at the time.
