i play console, tryna get the comp emblems. why are all of my teammates always so bad? what is up with the matchmaking why does it always make my teammates two pve players and then puts me up against an avengers level threat?. I can do more than hold my own but for some reason I am I still find myself losing games and when I check the stat line at the end of nearly every game, I played more than fine and my two teammates will be negative with less than 10 kills. I get that teammate blaming is low af especially to make a post about it, but it really just feels like it happens EVERY game and it’s kind of just not fun anymore. I was gonna include some example screenshots but honestly go crucible report my last played game and i can probably guarentee that this statement will still stand true. can someone maybe explain to me the way matchmaking works, am i just unlucky or do they genuinely put the less skilled players on the better players team? it just feels like im REALLY missing something because as a DIEHARD pvp supporter throughout all the horrific changes they have made I don’t even care to get the ascendant 0 emblem which says a lot i fear.

2 RepliesI consider myself a little bit above an average player in Destiny 2 pvp. Lately, i'm one of those "bots" in a team with 0.33 k/d. To tell you the truth: I don't have a clue what's happeing in pvp right now. In these matches I often don't even see the enemy. I see gunfights and flying bullets, but no enemy. And then............i'm suddenly dead. It's like i'm in another match, which is being parallel to this match, but 1-2 seconds behind.

The "matchmaking" can be influenced by high kd players deliberately throwing games so they re-match in lower KD lobbies. Then they and their butt buddies team up and stop the effing crap out of you....repeatedly. There is also a a situation where Bungie allows 3+3 stacks (or whatever stack combo) to band together REGARDLESS of "Outlier Protection" to smash the casual. Trials would seem like less of a FU*K Fest than Control at this point.

Matchmaking has always been like this. Comp is by far the worst imo, its so totally messed up that I cant take anything clear of it. I face by far better players also, over 2kd players that are better than me, but atleast i try to play the objective and change tactis if something does not work. It aint getting any better lol.

2 RepliesEdited by NotCreative123: 7/18/2026 5:16:48 PMI looked through history, and most games are balanced teams.. Your team might have had slight advantage on some of the games you lost (Basing all this on average K/D) One game on July 9th, the teams were unbalanced. They had two 2.0s and a 2.75, whereas you guys had you (2.4) and two 1.2s. Pretty unfair team balance imo. But every other game was balanced, so idk what to tell you. I mean, you frequently were best on your team, but that is to be expected when you're really good. Oh, but I agree that 1.0 k/d players should NOT be matching with you in a RBMM Playlist. Thats's BS, regardless of how "balanced" teams are.

1 ReplyDid you ever stop to think that you are the problem, running off on yr own trying to be a hero and leaving your team mates to die, try playing as a team and team shooting every now then, just a thought😉

1 ReplyBecause the algorithm expects you to carry them. I gave up on PVP a long time ago.

Credit in combat does not show everyone involved.. just the last 1 sometimes 2 that were doing damage. (Depending if the team member is alive when the enemies dies) perhaps you need to adjust your play to fit the team instead of what you currently do. A fireteam that plays together .. stays together "lord shax" Also some pvp players refuse to use 1 shot cheese weapons because we enjky the challenge and fun of pvp. Some just gloat over cheese moves and cheese weapons.. some even use cheats. Go figure

Comp solo lmao? You got to be kidding. Unless you are cheating your butt off or a Pro player in diapers it's literally not worth your time IMHO. Getting through Adept in this current era is not going to be fun at all unless of course you just get randomly lucky. But if you don't then there is very little reason to care. The idea being this game intentionally matches you with garbage, so it's based on your ability to play with garbage and then fight people better than your garbage. If you are not good at this specific thing, or if you get catty around garbage, then Comp is just an endurance test of wasting your time. Any other mode in the game is time better spent.

Which is why you pretty much have to stack with friends so you dont have to worry about it. Kinda sucks unfortunately.
