(Don’t do class items, I don’t think it works for them) Master work it for the low price of 3 cores; 3prisms and one Shard and you get back 6 cores and 6 prisms when you dismantle it. Should we have to do this? No. But it does mean that you can get back 15 Prisms for the price of 5 Shards, and shards are easily replaceable, ironically. The other alternative is to buy them from Rahool with Cores. You can pick up 40 cores per day for either 2000 or 4000 credits in Tharsis Outpost. It’s in the building on the far left at the back. You should never run out of credits to buy the cores if you play a little Lawless Frontier every week just to complete the “Territorial Profit” Quest from Spider. Then you can buy 4 Prisms every day from Rahool with them and never run out of cores. However you are right, the Master Vanguard alerts should be more rewarding and we shouldn’t have to do this annoying work around. Sadly I think it’s too late for a fix.

A trick you can do to get more prisms is buying old gear from Ada & masterworking it to 10, then dismantling it. It's a good strategy if you're constantly capped on shards like I am.

The only currency that I’m held back on when it comes to masterworking any new builds. Should be minimum 5-7 on higher difficulty fireteam and vanguard stuff
