Game causing my entire PC to lag/stutter

When I launch the game, my entire computer starts stuttering—and yes, this only happens with this game; I've tried other, more resource-intensive games but haven't been able to reproduce the problem. I've reinstalled it and cleared the caches, but nothing helps; this has been going on since yesterday.
