17 RepliesPeople don’t hate Marathon. They just don’t care about it. And the bad rep it has gotten from the trolls and -blam!- has made people not so encouraged to try it. Not like they would with something of a similar caliber, like Arc Raiders.

They laid off 400 developers most of which were Destiny devs. Next is more layoffs and studio closure. Sony won't do a Destiny 3 and they are looking at Bungie right now thinking when is the best time to close them down.

1 ReplyMarathon feels amazing to play. First the first week of playing it. Amazing gunplay and abilities can only keep me entertained for so long. If I’m in a PvE mood, there’s nothing for me to play. If I’m in a PvP mood, there’s nothing to play. I have to be in the mood for both in uncontrollable quantities. And then there’s no real hook in the progression when the only permanent thing you can keep are cosmetics. Darkzone from division will be the only extraction shooter formula I give with.

You aren't gonna get "back against the wall" Bungie, they'll launch to divisive reviews, launch two mediocre DLCs, then release the "we're so back" expansion when morale is low (the only pattern they follow)

Bungie did not have anything to invest in that would have swung destiny 2 into the right direction financially. We have no clue what the future holds… But when you lay-off most of the developers… This means a couple things(several, but to my point)…. There was nothing worth the millions for destiny 2 to continue into next year. They had concepts for the next year…. And it most likely did not pass the smell test. So… Bungie is either being reset and they go back to the drawing-board for a concept that warrants funding… Or they are slowly closing down due to irreversible financial damages and losses. But yelling at a company that spent 4 billion dollars on a company AND employee retention is completely ignoring what bungie’s leadership at the time was actually doing… cashing out. Everybody says something now about Sony continuing destiny… not realizing Sony HAD done something to keep destiny going and BUNGIE duped us all… including Sony.
