TL;DR I cant raid without a working mic, which I do have.
I have an elite controller and an Xbox series x discless. When I'm on the home screen I can hear the audio messages I send to friends. When in game I can't, but the transcribe option works. When in a group I can't hear anyone with or without my ASTRO headset plugged into my controller. When solo I can't hear anyone with or without the headset plugged in. When the headset is plugged in I can see my mic light up but Noone can hear me. I change voice chat channels and I see everyone's mic icon go away, swap back and see their icon but can't hear them and they can't hear me. And while in game my audio messages to or from friends is inaudible but the speech to text transcription still works. In game transcription doesn't, I'm assuming cause the game isn't able to hear them either. And no, the other players mics do not light up and I just hear nothing. I have checked all my settings both in console and on the xbox dot com website and they are set to allow everyone to speak to me. My nat type is wide open. Muting game sounds by 80% or all the way changes nothing. Changing it to mono doesn't work either. It's only when the game is running that I have this issue. Party chat works fine but most fireteams these days are an amalgamation of non Xbox players.

1 ReplyHello there, Thank you for your report. If you’re able to provide any extra details like whether this started after a specific update, whether it happens every session, and whether fully clearing the console cache or testing a different controller changes the behavior, that may help narrow down what’s causing it.
