they left this in a crap position for those of us on PC
I was enjoying the update too... they f'd it up
what is the solution Sony/Bungo? How is this resolved??

You'll be good.. just gotta ride it out

1 ReplyI jumped on 6 months later and you tell the franchise is finished. Everything that could go wrong has occured. Bungie need to stop living in a fantasy world and close up because Marathon ain't achieving nothing.

Cooked is what we are lmao
-
Hopefully they’ll fix that last minute before they sail off and go down with marathon
-
It will be fixed at some point, that's why they created an official thread for those affected

2 RepliesD2 team has stated it's not affecting all PC launchers and they are "doing what they can" to identify the underlying cause with their partners. So if it's not all launchers all you can do for now is :- Find out what hardware configs are not impacted (If someone on here says "I got no prob") Then ask for hardware and driver setup info. Anyone capable of making a database to collate such data and loves helping fellow gamers tends to be a GOAT in these circumstances. Look at your hardware / drivers, google known issues sometimes rolling back a recent driver is the best thing you can do. Background apps, either known or unknown can cause all sorts of issues post patch, again it's down to user as what's more important, smooth game or app convenience. Not a definitive list I know but just some obvious steps I remember from when I used to build my own PC's for gaming. Forgot the last resort - Wait and pray ;)

2 RepliesSony don't care, while pretty much everyone working on Destiny has been sacked. By the looks of it, a certain amount of patience is required before it's patched. Or, when Marathon fails, the rest of Bungie gets fired and the last guy to leave flicks the server switch.
-
I feel sorry for everyone affected, there's probably nothing to do but wait. And even if it does get fixed at some point, those who were affected will probably have already moved on. Fingers crossed 🤞

I made a bug report of this within Steam forums aswell. Just because it is Steam only so if it could ring any bells at Steam, but doubt they can do anything. Others say that if you play Epic or Windows version it works better, but here is the problem: you need to buy all the licenses again. Im not gonna do that. For me PvE is okay and 3v3 PvP works okay so im just gonna stay there for awhile. Its 6v6 that has most problems. -
Sabotaged so u join the 3k players on marathon

Just updating that today has been smooth - did not notice any stuttering in PVE or PVP... trying different things if I figure out why will let you know... (I did just get a watercress issue though) watercress issue for destiny 2 google below

In Destiny 2, Watercress is a general networking and connection error code. It typically occurs when the game servers fail to properly close a player's previous session, or when console players experience connectivity and caching issues. To fix this error, try these actionable troubleshooting steps:Restart the game and clear your cache: Completely close out of Destiny 2 and restart your platform. If on console, fully power cycle the system. If on PC, clear your cache in the Steam Launcher or Epic Games Launcher.Reset your network: Power cycle your router and modem. Ensure you are using a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi for better stability.Check NAT Settings: Ensure your NAT type is set to "Open" in your network settings.

...one thing different is I restarted my computer before starting up D2.. may have led to better performance... I dont think it requires all the steps above but I will do it if I notice issues if I go back into PVP... edit > clearing Steam cache (its possible Steam did this on their own because I had to choose who I was before I entered Steam and normally it doesn't give me an option it knows its me) clearing Steam Cache instructions in spolier (will close down active game and log you out of Steam)

To clear your Steam download cache, open Steam, click Steam in the top left, and select Settings (or Preferences on Mac). Choose the Downloads tab, click Clear Cache (or Clear Download Cache), and click Confirm. You will need to log back in afterwards.

-
