Idk if it was just a fluke or if something with matchmaking was changed, but I had a terrible night in Control tonight. For some reason, I kept matching with players that were from Top 4% and higher. Even matched with one player that was a Top 0.5% player, on a 57 game win-steak in Control, with a 2.5 KD, and over 750 We Ran Out of Medals.
I'm nowhere near that skill level. Aren't we supposed to have SBMM, or did something change?

I participated in Iron Banner despite not playing very much, if any, Crucible over the past year. The very first thing that happened at the start of the first match was that I ran forward and immediately got exploded by a single Jade Rabbit shot. Well, that was new... But it was mostly the same as past Crucible metas. I would get the drop on someone and start emptying my scout or SMG into the back of their head. They'd wake up, turn all the way around, and off me with 2 hand cannon bullets, casually walking away as if it was another day at the office. Pretty standard stuff. I guilded my Iron Lord seal for the 8th time. There were surprisingly little mercies, no obvious signs of cheating, besides the usual "how did they shoot me through a wall?" shenanigans. Eruption was a much more stable experience than I've seen in the past. Pretty refreshing.

Since SBMM (season 18) my k/d in Iron Banner went from around 1.8 (kda 2.10) to k/d around 1, lately even lower. Since SBMM my every match is like i'm playing Gamebattles Finals against latency and frame loss. -

The matchmaking is really loose and random. Stop thinking about it and move forward. Sometimes you have really good games that are close and these always feel the best. Sometimes you feel like a god and top your games and the next game its like you cant suddenly aim at all even tho you shoot exactly the same you did in your last game and you see your crosshair ontop of opponent, your gun just dont do enough and you are at the bottom of score board. Welcome to Destiny PvP. I know the feeling when you play against some really good top 1 % player. I usually dont check anyone but when I play against someone that shoots me before I can even see them in the screen and just pwns me in one seconde no matter I do and try, even change tactics more offensive or more defensive nothing helps, they just always boom boom boom you with Hand cannon in under one second and never miss their shots. Then I look them up and see those crazy stats, they just have aim that is far superior. I have trained Destiny 2 for quite some time and played loads of FPS games like CS 1.6, CS Source, CS 2, many battlefield, call of duty etc but still Im just bad. Oh well what you gonna do, i play for enjoyment nowdays and have beer now and then when playing so im having more fun now, because i stopped caring about my kd.
