My Lost Sector farm with a video guide from Sneaky Beaver.
The idea/method began in D1 actually...
Let's take a trip down memory lane. In D1 you would level via blue engrams, and we discovered that you could store these engrams un-decoded in our postmasters by filling our character engram slots.
And before any power increase that's what everyone was doing.
I also discovered, because of a failsafe to prevent losing loot drops to the void... that un-decoded blue engrams would only decode for slots that had empty spots on your character.
This allowed for even more efficient leveling. Because, if boots are my highest power... I don't want the next engram to decode as boots obviously.
So, I would fill those slots... fill all my high spots so the drops and gains went to where I wanted.
You know dupes? I found a way around that pain point in D1.
Something that has a thorn in my side all of D2, lol. Anywho...
In D2 they introduced these new solo experiences that were repurposed mini loot focusing instances that started in Vanilla D2 for world drops. Like Dust Rock Blues was probably the most famous one on Mars...Arrrgggg. Get your *** 🫏 to MARS! 😜
Well, Bungie made them psuedo-solo endgame. And in the beginning, they were good for 2 things... well 3. Mats, Exotics... and event reputation/resources.
One of the things Bungie has gone back and forth on was the holding of un-decode engrams... but every smart player used this method.
Every major update... more exotics, and the caps raised... meaning you'd be underleved. LS's at Master... a slower and more difficult grind.
So, at Pinnacle cap... power boost era or not... at the end of each update period, I and many others, would "prep" by stacking exotics. I would do every character's inventory slots and most of their postmasters slots.
Then... boom. I have not only the new exotics... I have a good split I can immediately build around.
And also for mats, great for mats.
And I just love them. It was my Shooting Range to test the tactical and practical viability of my build crafting.
Later Bungie added World drop weapons that were effectively adepts with extra perks... How far we've come. Oooh... one to 2 extra perks, lol.
And then about a year ago, they kinda went on the shelf... harder than Solo Ops, not a whole bunch of new armor exotics... relaxed or removed leveling/caps... other sources for new exotics, easier Legendary campaigns.
I kept stacking, nonetheless.
Now, Lost Sectors ARE back in full effect, best they've ever been.
You can farm T5 destination armor, un-decoded exotic engrams for the new archetypes. T5 destination weapons as well as T5 world drop weapons.
In addition, the Wednesday after the Monuments of Triumph update I discovered additional benefits from my old stacking method.
If you max out your engram slots, the armor drops decode into T5 world drop armor, i.e. old armor... like Smoke Jumper and Techsec instead of the destination armor.
The ghost focusing isn't automatic but it's much better. 1 in 3 you'll get the archetype... 33.33%.
And that's farm'able. Also, when engrams drop on the ground those will also get pushed un-decoded.
Finally, in one of the more recent hotfixes they added Bushido and Swordmasters to that pool.
Changed the armor sets available in the World Pool Engram to Techsec, Swordmaster, and Bushido Sets. [Note: I'm pretty sure Techsec was already in there].
The only thing LS's lost... was the Prism farm. But Arena Ops is great for that as a substitute...
