There is already an issue for M-17 “Fast Talker” where trying to swap to Heavy first cycles through your other weapon before pulling Heavy out, and the same behavior was also called out on Compact Defender and Uncivil Discourse. So if swapping from M17 into an Eager Edge sword is making you flash through your Energy weapon first, that lines up with an existing tracked issue. The important detail is that this appears to be tied to the generic swap/heavy-swap input path, not direct weapon-slot swapping. Internal notes explain that the game is effectively reading both the normal swap and the heavy-swap hold when that input is used, so if the current weapon stows quickly enough, you briefly see the other weapon before Heavy comes out.
