Since updating to version 9.7.0.2, I have been experiencing noticeable stuttering and performance issues in Destiny 2.
The issues include:
Random frame drops and brief freezes during gameplay.
Occasional stuttering when opening menus or navigating the UI.
Overall performance feels less stable compared to the previous version.
My hardware, settings, and environment have not changed, and these issues only started after installing the 9.7.0.2 update.

same here. 20-50 fps drop and worse stutters.
-
same here. before the update it was already bad and now its gotten borderline unplayable

Got the same problem with the latest update. Rounding the corner to the bazar gets me down on 57 fps and it's super annoying. Please bungie, do something against it before you can't anymore, don't let the game stay like that :')

Same here. Playing pvp feels far worse with all the freezing, and this is on top of the Edge of Fate issues with frame timings with the removal of exclusive fullscreen, and forcing everyone to run the old borderless windowed. Really hope they fix this, or even bring back exclusive fullscreen with the final patch.

I usually stay 200+ fps but after yesterdays patch the 1% lows and frame timing is disgusting. Its solely in pvp and makes it unplayable. Intel

Yeah, the performance seems absolutely terrible for me as well. My rig: AMD Radeon RX 9070 i9 10900k CPU 32gb RAM Game does not feel smooth at all to play most of the time. Considering I get buttery smooth performance in basically every game I play, it's not a problem on my end.

I'm having really bad frame pacing issues, the game doesn't feel smooth at all. using 9800X3D, 3080, 32 GB ram ddr5 6000 cl30

Edited by pal: 6/24/2026 10:25:43 PMI've also noticed this since Tuesday. Feels like the frame timing is super messed up. Even when my FPS is locked at a stable 85-90 it feels super choppy. I've tried multiple tweaks and combinations on an AMD Radeon 9060 XT 16GB and nothing alleviates the issue. Figured maybe its my drivers but even after updating to version 26.6.2 for AMD Adrenalin the hitching is still really noticeable. This affects pretty much the entire game. I saw some thread on Reddit mentioning that they noticed it on the Moon during a Distortion but even doing lost sectors and Astral Alignment, the frame pacing feels mega choppy even when the in-game counter doesn't dip below 75-80 Short edit: To give some more context, I personally hadn't had any truly noticeable hitching or frame drops for quite some time. I experienced it with the release of Edge of Fate, as did others. But after a patch or two it was fine. Up until Tuesday's patch my game felt smooth. No settings in-game or driver side had been changed.
