I used to work on computers way back in the day. Before that, as a kid, I had several Sony electronics that seemed to outlast just about everything else on the market. So when I realized as an adult that Sony actually "overmanufactured" their electronics to last,it only confirmed my brand loyalty that this company was the standard to beat and worth investing in for longevity, giving it purchase power that made a difference and deserved loyalty.
Fast forward to now....WTF? I STILL appreciate much of what Sony does in the electronics field, but the tone def, monkey level incompetence of how Sonys 'entertainment division' is run is the exact polar opposite of what I have come to respect about this company over the years. And as I abandoned my Xbox only 2 years ago seeing the writing on the wall, I now see the same blind, rich kid, obnoxious mindset of a company completely out of touch with the average people that make their profitability possible in the first place. What a DRASTIC departure of what they were all those years ago.
All I have to say is SHAME. The ones who have created this embarrassing, clueless venture to throw money in the toilet and turn customers into spread sheet data, which you STILL have no idea how to read, need to be fired with extreme prejudice. The tanking of this game is just the spearhead that has highlighted for the world that the ones calling the shots are feeble at their jobs and wrecking their reputation in real time. THAT is something that you can never truly earn back, REAL loyalty.

1 ReplySony just suck in general lately ! Just money and profit is all they care about .

Blame Microsoft Blame Activision Blame Sony Anyone with half a brain can see who the real problem was.

Wait until you realize sony is only to blame for like 20% of the issues. I'm sorry all these "fans" who are hating on sony clearly have no idea what they're talking about or even have a clue about bungie. You actually believe bungie when they say sony screwed them over? Bungie, the company that's been known the lie and play victim before, you really believe them and are siding with them? Their fate was sealed when pete was in charge is all I'm saying and the devs are just as much to blame as everything else since they never fought back and stayed quiet all the same. Even got upset when people kept asking for a road map. So yeah keep dreaming and keep blaming sony.

1 ReplyFunny that it's now Sony's fault when the one who keeps doing this is bungie. Remember when people blamed Activision for all the crap bungie pulled? Pepperidge farm remembers
-
2 RepliesRead about the dating Destiny game leaked by a developer and the money potentially wasted on such nonsense. Be mad at Bungie. Yes, Sony was reckless in the acquisition of Bungie but Bungie deserves every bit of the backlash.

2 RepliesThis IP functioned strong for a decade straight. There were ups and downs but the expansions made money every single time. What actually most likely happened is very simple. The shark card/silver Eververse sales started winding down. It was obvious for years with how they funneled so much exclusive "Exotic" gear, emotes, ships sparrows etc solely into Eververse with zero path to earn through gameplay. That was their entire business plan, bet on the sad desperate losers who wanted to stand out and get people to notice them in the Tower. So they spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on.... Dresses. Literal Star Wars gear. Literal Star Wars ships. Exclusive to Eververse emotes. $20 armor sets. $30-$35-$40 packs of slop. People kept buying them, so they kept making more exclusive crap. Just like with GTA, why bother making stuff for the players when some dorkass dweeb will spend the price of an expansion or multiple seasons on ONE SINGLE ARMOR SET?!

AsylumVindication feels envigorating - old
Yeah, we said all that about activision too even though if it hadnt been for them CoO would have killed the game. Bungie has been responsible for every flop and failure while someone else had to come in, clean up the mess and take the heat? Nah, the blame and fault are all bungies, top to bottom; ceo to janitor. -
Brand Loyalty of any kind is cringe.

I bet you buy the PS6 js.....

Interesting, can't say I care enough to read all that though

2 RepliesEdited by lonewolf-qc: 6/23/2026 8:57:48 PMLook, you can blame Sony for all you want, i blame them too for paying way too much for Bungie. Bungie did good things, but did a lot of bad things too. Bungie with Destiny and Marathon is a small portion of what Sony has to offer in terms of good and profitable games. God of War games (Santa Monica), Horizons games (Guerrilla), Last of Us/Uncharted games (Naughty Dog), Spider-Man/Wloverine games (Insomniac), Ghost of Tsushima/Yotei games (Sucker Punch) are all games made by Playstation owned studios that enjoyed a long lasting relationship for making good games that made money. Maybe Bungie missed the mark those last couple of years, which put them in the situation they are in right now.

I'll be buying Sony consoles until they quit making them, I'll be buying Sony games until they quit making them and I'll buy D3 if it's not made by (this) Bungie.

8 RepliesI have nothing against Sony whatsoever. It's Business.

Sony, money, or anything else can not pull magic out of thin air. Heck, if it were not for Sony buying Bungie… destiny would have died at least a year ago if not 2 years ago. Why? Because, somehow, a person bungie did not like ended up running bungie. A marketing grad that worked for Microsoft. They did not have a vision for the game. He cashed out when his when his contract matured to the payout. Destiny 2 was more of how we play the content differently instead of playing new and expanding content as players wanted. About paywalls and the “spreadsheets” you mentioned. This same person tried to sell the ip to Activision when he took over Bungie in 2017. Just because players want more destiny does not mean Bungie was set up for more destiny. At least, not at the point of spending more money on what is a very convoluted mess of destiny 2 with a dwindling playerbase. If there is to be more destiny down the road… This is the right call. Stop throwing money at destiny 2. Give bungie time to cook with their new structured management. Come up with, at least, a solid 5 year plan… Start pre-production. Start hiring/ramping up development. Start fresh. We do not know… But I do know companies do not like throwing away 4 billion dollars. Time will tell… But Sony at least gave us 2 more years of content that we would not have had otherwise because bungie was on the way to bankruptcy.

I've been saying the same thing for a few years now. To the point where I'm not moving beyond PS4.
