I know this is going to fall on deaf ears, or people are going to tell me something like "just live with it", But: I was going to change my name on here to change my display name in-game. Until I found out that I only get a single name change before I am stuck with it FOREVER. With Support of the game ending soon, please do not leave the Name Change system in it's current state for the people being left behind. There should never be a reason why people should be forced to have the same name for the rest of eternity. People change and grow, their interests change, and many other variables that you simply cannot account for. All that I ask is Bungie puts a Cooldown on name changes on their website (it could be a 1, 2 or 3 months) instead of the hard "1 name change only for the rest of time". Support is not going to be there forever, assuming that Support has the power to change people's name on request, but you really shouldn't have to do this to begin with, Support has better things to worry about than someone wanting their name changed as long as it isn't offensive. Will people choose to have "stupid/meme" names as some people put it? Yea, of course. but that to me is the beauty of MMO games like this, some people have funny names that make you laugh, some people have roleplay names, some people use their real name, there are a lot of valid reasons for wanting to change your name more than there are reasons not to have one. I made this name I have like 4 or 5 years ago during Season of The Splicer, and then I quit for a few years and came back after hearing what happened to the game. So Bungie, if you do read this, please just add a cooldown to name changes. This is the most easy solution to stop people from changing their name every 5 minutes. Most people aren't going to change their name that often anyway. 1-2 months is reasonable to me.
