I'll try and explain my circumstances to the best of my knowledge.
In early February of 2026 I wanted to log on and play Destiny 2 on Steam, but I was unable to log on to the Steam platform using my username and password. I had reached out to Steam support explaining my circumstances; they responded to me informing me that my account got hacked. Steam understood the circumstances I was in and they let me have my account back, with the recommendation that I change my password and also add another layer of security when logging into Steam, I did so and then I proceeded to launch Destiny 2.
Once I had logged into Destiny 2 I chose play as my Warlock, and immediately noticed that there were some red flags on my character. First was my loadout and settings were completely different from where I had left them, but the glowing red flags that really stook out to me was I apparently had the two triumphs completed. One was for a flawless completion of the raid Vault of Glass and the other was for a flawless completion of the raid Kings Fall. It was strange to me because I know that I have never even played much less did a completion of those raids in a very long time, and I know I have never even used any Destiny 2 boosting or clearing services at all so I gave no one other than me permission to use my account (Rossdaboss93#7305), but I knew as soon as I saw that I had those triumphs completed it all started connecting- someone hacked my account and did a flawless run of both VOG and Kings Fall (They may have done even more raids than just those two, but that's just my recollection of what happened).
I didn't really think much of the hack that took place afterward, I figured after I had changed my passcode and added some extra layer of security on Steam, I thought that was the end of it, but little did I know the following day I would receive a notification from Steam that I have been permanently banned from playing Destiny 2. This led me to draw the conclusion that whoever it was that hacked my account used some third-party software i.e. cheats to complete a flawless run of Vault of Glass and Kings Fall, or at least that's the conclusion that I have come to, I have never actually received any emails or messages from Bungie with any explanation of what terms of service I violated or for what reason my account was permanently banned.
Feeling confused by the set of circumstances I found myself in, I did a little bit of research about what could be done to reverse the ban, and I had discovered that Bungie did have a ban appealing process on their website, so I filled out a form trying to explain what my circumstances were to the best of my abilities and did include the notion that my account did get hacked. I had submitted the form for Bungie to review at their earliest convenience. A few weeks later I had received a notification from Bungie help that they had responded to my appeal. When I had opened up my appeal to see what the response was the only thing I had noticed was that the status of the appeal went from "open" to "solved". Seeing the status of my appeal change in that way, I thought "okay the ban must have been lifted and I can go back to playing Destiny 2" however when I had tried to do so, I had discovered that the ban had not in fact been lifted and was still in effect. Thinking that this might have been a mistake on Bungies part I submitted another appeal ticket in another attempt to get the ban lifted, but unfortunately the results were the same, I would submit an appeal ticket explaining my set of circumstances wait a week or two, get an email notification for Bungie saying they responded, open up the appeal ticket see that the status of the ticket went from "open" to "solved". Try to log back into Destiny 2 only to be greeted with the message: "Not So Fast this account has been banned." So I am not really sure what was "solved"
I know that I have gone on a bit of a tangent and if anyone from Bungie is reading I appreciate that you took the time to read this but, based off of everything that I have mentioned, I am very much confused and I am hoping that someone (preferably someone at Bungie) is able to reach out to me and clear up my confusion. I am also happy to answer any questions.
I look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Edited by BNGHelp5: 6/18/2026 12:56:41 AMHey there, The forum is not able to assist with ban appeals - no one here can look into, escalate or expedite. However we can explain a few parts of the process. Firstly you do not receive an email or any information about the ban. Secondly, Bungie bans by account not by player; Bungie's standpoint is that we are responsible for the security of our own accounts, and responsible for anything done on them. So 'it was not me playing' may not be considered a valid appeal. Bungie only give a response to a ticket if they intend to overturn the ban or require further information. As neither happened to you, that sounds like the ban was upheld. The first appeal is the only one that counts, repeat appeals just get closed off automatically.
