I know it's a long shot, but I would like to see the Strongholds change back to the way they work prior to the update. The Praxic Blade and Strongholds build didn't hurt anyone. The reasoning behind the nerf sounds very weak. Using Strongholds as intended to survive encounters but, with the Praxic Blade can also do a little bit of damage while blocking. I feel like this was done out of spite, especially considering there are other exotic that are more broken. Fortune's Favor or Converse Holds to name a few. Both are broken and both made endgame content very easy. Fortune's Favor gives a void oversheild for doing almost nothing and Converse Holds can obliterate most adds with little effort. (Go to Trostland in the EBZ for a demonstration). I think it would also be a show of good will to Titan Mains. Whatever Bungie decides, I will be fine with. I just need to get this off my chest.
Thank you.

Perfectly fair. Praxic blade and strongholds made you effectivly immortal WITH the added bonus of killing anything infront of you. With this change you can still be a wall with a heavy sword(my honest opinion the whole point of the exotic) but now you cant mangle everything while you do it.

Only way we can unnerf Strongholds is further nerf to ligthsaber. Pick one.

2 RepliesI used the Strongholds + Praxic Blade combo and coming from experience it was way too busted. But I do think the nerf was in the wrong direction, they should’ve just nerfed the damage done by the reflections instead

Totally fair.

It was fun while it lasted but all good things must end. I for one used it heavily for dungeon solo flawlesses, renegades syndicate contract missions, and flawless or limited revive raids. It gets boring blocking everything back at your enemies unlimitedly so once i red that strongholds were no longer compatible with special weapon swords it switched back to my other exotics and builds.

Edited by hypershadow51: 6/15/2026 2:33:15 PMEverything has its time. As fun as it was, it probably is more balanced now. However… Stronghold still works with Praxic Blade, but to a lesser degree. You can still build up Perfect Guard stacks, you just can’t guard forever. So put on a Lucent Blade mod and guard strategically. You can also build up Perfect Guard with the heavy sword before switching back to Praxic Blade. Next time you attack, it will still proc Restoration. One of my favorite builds involves Slammer with Eager Edge/ Cold Steel for movement, and to handle Unstop/ Overloads. Combine it with Praxic Blade (does Antibarrier), Stronghold, and Swordmaster set, and I don’t really even feel the nerf. Especially if I’m on Void with devour and overshields as well, everything is always Weakened and Exhausted with every lightsaber hit.

4 RepliesEdited by llSpAxXll: 6/14/2026 6:24:12 PMIt was in fact ‘hurting’ people. In PvE players were going afk with it and using some form of macro’s or controller reworkers to keep them in the game indefinitely. So any matchmade activity was playing one short. And in PvP people were just blocking with it. Reflecting any damage at them to enemy team without much counter play. It was annoying the p..s out of many in there too. It was ‘fun’ while it lasted, but needed to happen. Be glad they left praxic itself intact as is. It’s still a wonderfully exotic to use. Put on synthoceps instead and preferably on strand banner of war titan. You’ll still be ‘unkillable’ you just need to play actively.

Nah learn how to actually play instead of holding one button :)

Strongholds were used to do nothing but block damage in GM's and Raids, literally nothing else. It was unhelpful in most cases and caused situations where players were just blocking 90% of the time, with 10% of the time reviving teammates and doing damage. The cons heavily outweighed the pros, and was deserved. Keep it nerfed, Titans have other builds to use other than Strongholds.

Edited by MillerTime669: 6/15/2026 3:27:35 AMNo. It was the perfect nerf. Completely untouched everything that made strongholds as good as they are. If you're using strongholds correctly, the *nerf" has zero effect. Strongholds is officially perfect now. Still offers the absolutely best survivability, and offers enough to be super aggressive in ultimate content. It's the only exotic that allows you to stay up in the face of several bosses and champions in ultimate content. The only people who will see this change are those that were using it wrong. No offense meant here, but honestly this is a "get gud" moment. Especially with praxic blade, you should never be blocking long enough to even notice the change. Fyi, heavy ammo swords still infinite block for revives.

Edited by Griever: 6/15/2026 12:24:55 AMExcept for when titans were standing there doing nothing but reflecting shots back at the enemy while their teammates waited to be revived or on the rare occasion you'd see one use it in pvp and the Titan was basically unkillable because you can't damage him directly. I'm sorry, but regardless of whether it leans more towards PvE or pvp, if what basically comes down to infinite God mode in either mode is balanced, then so is infinite invis that doesn't break upon the user shooting, and infinite summons, and infinite whatever else players can name.

The 2 people left at Bungie that are tasked with dealing with this community after the final update are gonna have very miserable lives. This community literally never stops complaining and it's kindof hilarious. Lmao. Like the rappers love to say. And it don't quit and it don't stop and it don't quit and it don't stop........

10 RepliesNo actually it was cancerous for the game. You had F tier players all over the place crutching it and being an active detriment in activities. People getting portable god mode on demand isn’t a good thing.

Edited by cryptic_king_241: 6/14/2026 10:44:15 PMIt was busted. Better this than for it to be like this for every sword. Really, who uses Ergo Sum anyway?
