Cross Save blocked because linked Microsoft/Xbox account no longer exists

Hello Bungie Help, I am trying to enable Cross Save for Destiny 2 from my PlayStation account to my Steam account, but I cannot continue because the Microsoft/Xbox account linked to my Bungie profile cannot be authenticated. On the Cross Save setup page, my PlayStation, Steam, and Epic accounts are already authenticated successfully. However, the Microsoft/Xbox account still requires authentication. The Microsoft/Xbox account shown on my Bungie Cross Save page appears as “Fuji2P”. However, my current Xbox gamertag is “Fuji2Poxo”. When I try to authenticate the Microsoft/Xbox account from the Cross Save page, I get the following errors after Microsoft login: * ErrorCannotAuthorize * 404 Page Not Found on Bungie.net I have already tried many troubleshooting steps: * Different browsers * Private / InPrivate browsing * Clearing cookies and cache * Allowing third-party cookies * Allowing pop-ups and redirects * Disabling ad blocking / tracking protection * Different PC * Different internet connection * Different physical location * Logging into Xbox.com first before trying Bungie authentication * Logging into Bungie directly with my current Microsoft/Xbox account The issue still happens every time. Important detail: When I log into Bungie using my current Microsoft/Xbox account with the Xbox gamertag “Fuji2Poxo”, Bungie treats it as a first-time login / new Bungie profile. Because of this, I believe the Microsoft/Xbox account currently linked to my main Bungie profile is not my current Xbox account “Fuji2Poxo”, but an old Microsoft/Xbox account that no longer exists. I found old Microsoft account emails showing that an old Microsoft account using an old Gmail address was scheduled for deletion in 2024. When I now try to sign in with that old Microsoft account, Microsoft says that the account does not exist. So my current understanding is: * My main Bungie profile still has an old Microsoft/Xbox account linked to it. * That old Microsoft/Xbox account may have used the name “Fuji2P”. * The old Microsoft account appears to have been deleted and is no longer recoverable. * My current Xbox gamertag is “Fuji2Poxo”, but Bungie treats it as a new login, so it is not the account linked to my main Bungie profile. * Because the old Microsoft/Xbox account no longer exists, I cannot authenticate it. * Because I cannot authenticate it, I cannot enable Cross Save. This does not appear to be a browser, network, device, or location issue. It seems to be an account-linking issue where my Bungie profile still has a deleted Microsoft/Xbox account linked to it. Could Bungie please check the Microsoft/Xbox account currently linked to my Bungie profile and advise what can be done? I understand that platform account unlinking normally requires authentication from the linked account. However, in this case, the linked Microsoft/Xbox account appears to no longer exist, so I cannot complete the authentication process. I can provide screenshots if needed, including: * Cross Save page showing the Microsoft/Xbox account name * ErrorCannotAuthorize * 404 Page Not Found after Microsoft authentication * My current Xbox gamertag “Fuji2Poxo” * Microsoft emails showing the old account deletion notice * Microsoft sign-in screen showing that the old account does not exist Please help me resolve this so I can enable Cross Save from PlayStation to Steam. Thank you.

  • Hi there, Due to mandatory security policy, Bungie is not able to remove connected platform accounts from Bungie.net profiles under any circumstances. If your account has been lost or deleted, we are unable to assist you, and you will need to contact your platform's support for account recovery.
