Character Deletion After Update – Need Help

After the latest update, all of my Destiny characters appear to be gone. Everything was normal before the update, and I haven't made any account changes that would explain this. I also noticed that my Bungie account name appears to have been changed back to a linked Xbox account name, which makes me wonder if there was some kind of account-linking or profile issue during the update. Thanks for any help.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. This looks more like the game may be loading the wrong linked account or Cross Save profile, rather than your characters being deleted. Please try the following steps: [quote]Fully sign out of Destiny 2 and Bungie.net. Sign back into Bungie.net using the platform account that originally had your Destiny characters. Check your Linked Accounts and Cross Save setup, and make sure the correct platform account is connected. If Cross Save is enabled, make sure the correct characters are the active ones. Launch the game again on that same platform account and see if your characters appear.[/quote] If your Bungie Name or characters still look wrong, send us which platform your characters were originally on and which platform/account you are currently signing in with. Please do not unlink accounts or disable Cross Save while troubleshooting, as that can complicate things and may trigger a 90-day Cross Save lockout.
