Been playing Destiny for the better part of 12 years now, supported the game through thick and thin. Loved, laughed and hated the game through its long cycle but always came back since my favorite and best memories in all of my gaming life are right here, on Destiny.
Well, over the last 8-9 months or so I have been denied any sort of access to play the game. I can click play, I can load in. I can select a character, I can look at my gear I'll never be able to use again then without any warning, disconnect messages, or any other feedback from the game I am booted out due to error code weasel within 2 minutes of selecting a character. I have tried every single fix under the sun, even going as far as browsing to page 8 of Google. The Bungie help site offers absolutely zero help as well.
I have attempted (brace with me here it's a long list):
- /sfc scannow (twice, first it found and fixed errors, restarted and did it again and it came back good)
- Resetting all of my network drivers and reinstalling them
- Switching from WiFi to Ethernet (Stable gigabit)
- Getting a brand new router and modem
- Getting a brand new motherboard in-case my Ethernet port was bad
- Getting brand new GPU, CPU and RAM
- Forwarding all of Bungie Destiny 2 server ports in-case they were being denied through firewall
- Allowing Destiny 2 through all of my firewalls and AC filters
- Uninstalling GPU drivers and installing older versions and repeating this process for drivers dating from this year all the way back to 2022
- Adjusting networking settings such as; UPnP, DNS addresses, increased MTU amongst other network related things
- Clearing local cache
- Replacing my Ethernet cable, tried both CAT6 and CAT7
- Using multiple VPN programs, including split tunneling and Cloudflare One Client and their WARP client
- Entirely wiping all of my drives clean and reinstalling Windows
Nothing seems to fix this "Weasel" error and I'm quite frustrated at both the situation and Bungie for seemingly not caring about the playerbase they've spent so long building.
Purchased the special edition of every DLC, played countless hours and made lifelong friends of whom I am no longer able to play Destiny 2 with ever again due to this one single issue that has no known fix.

Update: Updating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 fixed my issue.

the only fix ive heard is reinstalling windows (but that wipes all your app data etc) so im just waiting for the june 9th update otherwise i might have to do that

this bungie just replies with the same answer every time they will never help us bro i have the same issue
