So, I finally found some time to play in the new season. I already knew about the seasonal reset beforehand, so that's on me. I wanted to give the game a chance, and honestly, I actually liked it.
However, having to re-grind everything again is just too tiresome. But, you know, I thought: "Just play for fun, right?" Running around, exploring, and hunting other players. The problem is that my abilities take a long time to recharge, and my knife can no longer one-shot even the basic robots.
So, yeah, while I was really enjoying the game, the seasonal reset is simply not for me. I depend on Game Pass to play, and I won't be renewing it next month anyway, so I wouldn't be playing much longer regardless. Still, I wanted to leave my feedback and explain why I'll be stepping away from Marathon.
It really is a special game, and I won't deny that. But for someone who can't play 24/7, even if I wanted to, having all my progress reset every season is discouraging.

No Marathon for me, my knees would probably break at the 3-mile mark.

It’s fun, but I agree. The reset is theoretically nice for evening the playing field, but the people who have the time will be back to where they were so quickly. I’d like to explore the Marathon, I just don’t have the time to invest to get there. I don’t want to treat the game like a job, either.
