Look, I don't wanna be that person, but since there won't be any new story content, how about working on getting BattlEye working for Linux gamers? Especially now, since there will be a lot of returning players (like me) who have since started using Linux after Microsoft ended LTS for Windows 10.
I'd love to come back to the game, but it really is impossible to play on Linux, and that's just inexcusable at this point. I can load up pretty much any game in my Steam library (hell, I can even play Rocket League from the Heroic Launcher, even when Epic is not available on Linux, and that game also has an anticheat!) except for Destiny 2. So far, I have not seen any explanation for why you won't allow it on Linux that makes sense, and it's even more confusing because BattlEye added support for Steam's Proton… 5 years ago.

Unless it's ready in the June uodate it won't happen. Not enough time left in destiny's development to work on something new now.

1 ReplyBungie has already stated before they have no interest in having d2 run on Linux. An with the game ending service it definitely won't happen.

They really don’t want to. End of. Unfortunately. 2. Additional training for staff. 3. Redevelopment of Bungie’s in house anti-cheat. 4. Linux is a subset of a subset of PC gaming. It’s around 5% of the Steam market, so even less of the PC gaming market. It’s insignificant. 5. The majority of this relatively small subset of people that are interested in playing on linux will already own D2 on steam. So the opportunity for additional sales is minimal.
