Recovering In-Game Account After Deleted Microsoft Account via Cross Save?
I have played Destiny since D1 on Xbox and with a specific Microsoft account for about the last 6 years. I deleted that Microsoft account about six months ago, which means it’s past Microsoft’s 60-day undo period and permanently deleted (yes, unwise choice).
**BUT** I can still login to my Bungie account via my linked Twitch account and see all my characters etc. because the Twitch account was on a different email - hence how I’m making this post now. Is there a way I could somehow use this Bungie profile account to save access to my in-game account (either on Xbox or otherwise)?
For example, could I add a new email to my Bungie account and then create a new Microsoft account with that same email address? Or, alternatively, could I use that new email to set up a profile on/with a different system and enable cross play with my Bungie account, thereby gaining access back to my Bungie profile in-game? I had not previously enabled cross play.

1 ReplyHey there, game data is permanently tied to the account on which it was created. There is no way to transfer it to any other account, ie, you can't try to newly recreate the XBox account and expect it to be treated as the old one, there'd be some kind of internal reference code for each, and a recreated account like that would be a different account because of that. As far as cross-save is concerned, I think you can add other accounts in Settings/Account Linking, but without being able to authenticate XBox you would be unable to set cross-save up. So it looks like the characters are now inaccessible.
