The Parlour is closed and dark. Shutters cover the windows. Inside, the fire dragons are curled together on top of the largest oven. For all their stillness, none sleep. Their eyes are open and glow with the light of embers. Their muzzles all point in the same direction. Towards the deep forest. Slow power fills the kitchen. The slimes are mounded over the bodies of the dragons. Two of their number are absent. Unusually, they are almost still. Like ripples on a pond, waves gently flow across their bodies. A very faint red or green glow surges in time with the ripples.
