Bungie just doesn’t know how to make good lore. Darkside Royalty/Joker broke down so much over the years how Bungie were just retelling stories in the themes of Destiny, especially when it comes to the Uldren story. What I will miss is the very solid first person feel. The unique weapon perks that force a minigame while shooting and platforming. The lore was never the reason I played tbh

The majority of stories are retellings with a different setting.

2 RepliesWhat they did with it was weak, the lore itself is good and has lots of potential. I mean that it wasn’t the reason you played it cool, it’s not for everyone. But potential is only that, it needs creative chops to make it happen. I mean OG base game revealed the codependent nature of Dark and Light in the first campaign and how the Vanguard knew, supposedly to keep their power they were willing to let Darkness survive. I mean the Ulan-tan theory of Symmetry was in a card in the base game. But they didn’t address that until what, Shadowkeep? So a huge chunk of the ten year plan was really about diving into the mysteries, instead they decide to do a generic surface level conflict.

Hive and Cabal lore was definitely not weak
