Destiny was an unforgettable experience that saved and completely changed my life in so many ways. Thank you Bungie for teaching me that I have the power to make my own fate and giving me memories that I will take to the grave

Edited by BOOMBOXCOLLOSUSS: 5/29/2026 6:11:38 PMDestiny proved how much potential a game can have and what that kind of draw can bring out in a community of players. As usual though, once something becomes successful, the short sighted corporate predators exploit it into the ground. I for one am going all in with this game and will play while helping other guardians as long as it remains playable. There will never be another game like it and it's not over till it's over. WE make the game great and we all have an opportunity to show the entire industry what kind of community we can be. No guardian left behind can be a rally cry for veteran Destiny players. WE could create a new era for the game with what we have just by reaching back and making sherpa and teaching posts the predominant culture instead of the relentless pacing of chasing that new carrot. We have a very REAL opportunity as a community here IMO. Just imagine what is possible if we create OURSELVES a vibrant. player first community to occupy their game for the next 6 months. By Christmas '26 Sony would be beside themselves unable to deny what kind of community we really are, and one that deserves a sequel. But only if we show up and put our actions where are yappers are. A game only brings out what we already strive for, to be more than the sum of our individual parts. Lamenting and giving up is UNACCEPTABLE to me.

2 RepliesNo, it was just a video game, at times a damn good video game.

Yes, it is a game that also happened to end my marriage and consume my life. I sold a kidney to pay for the ornaments I have equipped (worth).

Unfortunately, for the people steering the ship, it wasn't anything like that. It was just a video game to them. Maybe even less.
