ok, so ik there's like.. a big petition going on or something, and im not saying it's not gonna work or anything..
I've seen it work a couple times, do yall remember the sonic movie? well, it wasn't a petition but the internet's tantrum worked regardless!
I just don't wanna place my bets on it yk, becuz if it fails I'll wear the clown hat like all of ya.. but hey, a "more than 0%" chance of failure seems like good odds to me...
but the more cheesy/corny topic titles I read on this forum.. hoo boy... rlly makes me question if that petition will work.

also, can we talk about how that content vaulting thing totally hammered the new player experience? there's always a new "I became a new player in destiny 2" type videos on YT and I think it's kinda funny..
funny to think that vaulting all of that content also messed with the new player experience, more than everyone's willing to admit.
I don't wanna go on a full rant about that, but just think about it for a moment will ya?

Edited by BOOMBOXCOLLOSUSS: 5/29/2026 8:07:19 PMIf we repopulate the existing games with every guardian that is able to sherpa to reach back and make teaching runs the norm again, we would actually create the community we always claimed we had that would be WORTH making a sequel for. Some minimal effort signature farming will have literally no effect compared to a sherpa resurgence of the destiny games by simply 'paying it forward' and also reaching back to make struggling players the priority. In other words, change gears and become one who bridges the gap for others now. The best gaming experience you can have is also the one your willing to take the time to pass on to others. Make miced up sherpa runs the norm again, THAT is what the true heart of Destiny always was. If we lost that, then why do we even deserve more destiny at all?

This "petition" won't do anything. I've been part of games that were shut down despite those games still turning a profit and no petition ever helped them out either. Petitions aren't going to reverse an executive decision that was already made months ago and has been incorporated into the company's future plans. It's just the last, desperate gasp from an abused playerbase that is looking for any shred of light in the darkness; anything to say they "did something." I'm not even being nihilistic or doom-posting as this is just the reality of things.

4 RepliesI do kinda find it funny that everyones talking about this server slam thing, but why are we waiting till June 9th? Is it because you'll actually have something to do? Sony/Bungie don't need to see people come back when there's new stuff, that's essentially been the story of Destiny as a whole. They wanna see people on now, when the games had nothing in 6 months, that shows you want the game to continue. But again, this has always been a pain point for Destiny, unless there's practically a constant flow of new stuff, people don't play.

Agreed. This game has ALWAYS made it really hard on new players. * Loot is only here temporarily (seasonal items, sometimes loot is easier to farm, etc.). Basically, new and returning players are already at a big disadvantage in terms of knowledge and skill, so why also have the disadvantage of not having access to half the guns in the game? Every gun should be available. Period. FOMO tactics suck. * Practically everything endgame in D2 requires a fireteam. That makes that new players have to understand LFG and get on a team.... Yeah, nothing hard about that. * No instructions at all to indicate what is a good perk or a bad perk. If you want to understand what damage bonus a perk gives, you have to lse 3rd party apps or reddit to get an explanation. It is awful.

11 RepliesEdited by Northern: 5/28/2026 2:28:06 PMThe petition will fall on deaf ears. Sony/Bungo has a plan that does not include D2 and most likely D3.
