Why isn't vaulted content being unvaulted for the end?

If June 9th is the last content update we're getting for D2. Why isn't vaulted content/locations coming back? Would this not be the best time to give us everything back? I want to explore Mars, Titan, The Tangled Shore... I want to replay Forsaken... This sucks.

  • Because Bungie LIED. There was NEVER a DCV. They knew from the start that they were STEALING that content from the people who PAID for it and NEVER intended to return it. Bungie knew they were revising the Tiger Engine and didn't want to have to rebuild all the content. Everything else they said was a BS excuse to avoid a player revolt and a DESERVED class action lawsuit.
This sucks.
Oh yeah! This is from a developer's perspective. Max Nichols / Destiny 2: Engine Porting "The Beyond Light expansion for Destiny 2 released with a large engine upgrade behind the scenes. This upgrade was mostly invisible to players, but it was incompatible with all of our existing Destiny 2 activity content. This meant that any content we weren’t planning to sunset needed to be rebuilt manually." Well, technically, Bungie could bring it back. I always found that decision of removing content—people paid before, not knowing it will be taken away again—borderline, nothing less. And as if that wasn't enough, they took content out of that pool of removed assets and sold them abstracted again. Which they already did with assets of the Shadowkeep DLC from the original Destiny on a large scale. I'm sorry to say, but those managers from that time with their phantom incubation projects are just as cheap as their recycling agenda. They ruined the reputation of Destiny 2. In the end, the content has been steadily less while Eververse was becoming more. Real, newly developed content. And then the lies... The "Bungie magic". LOL, they really weren't above doing anything. Edit: At least, they could bring the complete Forsaken DLC, which was removed after the Beyond Light DLC, back.

      • Because they deleted it to not get sued remember the lawsuit of the stolen story from the red war campaign? Only way out of that was to not have the content anymore. I could be wrong but seems awfully convenient

            • The Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken we're part of the plagiarism lawsuit. So when Bungie said "technical reasons" as the reason why. Just know that was a lie. Go look at Warframe every expansion is still available to play. And somehow they could do it without "technical reasons".

              • Because the game can’t support that amount of content. Add bringing all of that back would literally break the servers. I also believe the files were deleted.

              • Bungie basically has to keep content updated to keep everything working and since they didn't do so for that content they'd have to pretty much re-make it. Now bungie likely never was going to anyways but now that the devs only have a few weeks then they're gone they DEFINITELY won't be giving it to us now.

                • All of those assets weren't just removed they were deleted. So they are unable to bring them back.

                • It's because the content vault was actually a burn pit. The only things that survived were the items that came from the content.

                • Why would they if there is no profit to be made. To bring it all back requires rebuilding it all from the ground up which would be a big undertaking for a super healthy destiny 2 but for a dead destiny 2 its a massive waste of resources.

                • I imagine that a lot of vaulted content would need too much rework to make it playable. How are you going to play old content when the light level, armor stats and weapon stats etc. have all drastically changed? Not to mention the loot pool. The bug list would be enormous. How are you going to play subclasses like strand before strand was created? A strand build might break the content and make you S tier++++++. There are just too many possibly scenarios to make it feasible and no time or money left. I'm afraid it's over.

This is the $1M question…instead of the D3 petition maybe it a class action lawsuit!

                    • All the vaulted content will come back when they release "Destiny 2 - Remastered" Probably all the original vaulted content and all missing DLCs will appear there. Sony just want an opportunity to sell it back to you, first.

                      • They claimed they don't have the working version when they got sued, would be weird if they suddenly pop out since it proves they lied about it And can they squeeze your money from this? If no, they won't bother unless they can make you pay for old content like that haunted leviathan

Didn't they say all that content is gone and unplayable and they can't bring it back because it will be called out in the lawsuit. Them bringing back all the old raid bosses is SuS though meaning in some way they have the old content to some degree showing they lied about the original content.
