Setting Destiny up to be a replay able game with everlasting content may be great. Yes eventually pull run out of builds to create and weapons to chase but playing games just for fun is ok.

It would be & I was with you, however, when you read this content isnt a complete ending type thing, it's content they'd made for the next year & it's just being shoved out, it sets alarm bells off. A complete game would remove guardian ranks or have them as a side thing, & put season level over our heads again, so you can tell who's brand new & who's been around a while, imagine in 4 years seeing guys rank 78000, with ranks youre just gonna think oh that rank 11 had friends to play with - imagine new players trying to do derealize to get to rank 7, they're just not gonna care. Are we gonna be stuck with the same 6 gms forever? Same mm pool or portal rotations of strikes etc, very few future new players are gonna be that devoted. Are they leaving neonuma -20? Are they starting new players at 300 power & straight into master content. Will SRL have mm, or will it be like D1 & not, making it useless. Will they fix old bugs & triumphs that are broken, probably not, they could tweak seals that new players can't do, like the Europa one, you can grind it all solo but then there's 1 to do 50 brig public events in a team of 3. Cursebreaker can be solo'd but there's an egg in the raid that requires a lot of teamwork & 6 players making it almost impossible. These still require a lot of work & grind but add huge reasons to play for players but are blocked off. There's like 50 ways they can complete it, or leave it stuck like a typical season end. -
No content is everlasting, but a game will last if the experience is fun. Still playing The Division simply because shooting those rioters, cleaners, rikers and LMB is fun and even more fun with that one ACR with perfect perks making it an absolute PVE beast and not nerfed just because it's fun
