Steam Linking
I lost access to the Steam account linked to my Bungie account 4 or 5 years ago, I didnt bother looking into unlinking the account at the time because I still played on Xbox. Come today, 5/24/2026, I go to unlink it as im swapping to PC fully, I find i cannot unlink my steam account.
I have no way to access the old Steam account, I dont even have the email that it was under. I would like to unlink my old steam account so I can link my new one, that way I can continue to enjoy Destiny and any other games that may come without needing to keep my Xbox for just one game.
Please help, I would greatly appreciate it.

As EckyThump mentioned following the account [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/35597981889300-Notice-Bungie-net-Account-Unlinking-Update-on-March-25-2025]unlinking update[/url] introduced on March 25, 2025, only twitch accounts can be unlinked from bungie profiles. All other platform accounts, once linked, are permanently associated and cannot be removed. As account linking is managed directly by players, we’re unable to unlink account or make changes on a player’s behalf. Because of this, the account in question will remain linked.

Edited by EckyThump: 5/24/2026 5:34:59 PMHey there, as of March 2025 it is no longer possible to unlink a platform account from a Bungie Account, meaning the Steam account can't be unlinked even if you could authenticate it. You could play on the XBox account directly through the Microsoft Windows PC store version.
