Destiny should continue through books, comics, and other media

Since Destiny 2 is no longer receiving major updates, and Destiny 3 seems unlikely to arrive within the next five years, I think this would be the perfect time to expand Destiny into books, comics, and possibly other forms of media. The most realistic options would be novels and comics, because they are much cheaper to produce than TV shows, movies, or new video games. One possible reason this never happened on a larger scale before may have been that Bungie wanted to keep tight control over the story and its direction. But now the situation has changed. If we are not getting major new content inside the game itself, expanding the franchise into other formats could be an amazing way to keep Destiny alive. A multimedia project could take inspiration from how Star Wars has been handled for a long time. Star Wars has had multiple books released each year, along with comics, all guided in a relatively centralized way so that the universe stays coherent and the quality is protected. Something similar could work very well for Destiny and its future. I really hope that, as a community, we could try to push this message forward: we want Destiny to continue in some form, and a serious book and comic line could be one of the strongest realistic ways to do that. There are so many possible story directions: The Fate Saga Finish the planned saga through novels and comics, giving Destiny 2’s final storyline a more worthy conclusion and leaving a clean slate for Destiny 3, if it ever happens. Multiple eras Stories from the Golden Age, the Dark Age, the City Age, or even the post-Fate Saga era. Character-focused stories For example, a trilogy about Zavala, Ikora, or Cayde. New Guardians Entirely new Guardians with their own adventures, struggles, heroics, and fireteams. Non-human faction stories Standalone stories about Eliksni, Cabal, Hive, Vex, Awoken, or even species and factions that are not directly connected to humanity. A larger multimedia project would also make it possible to explore several of these ideas at once, along with many other ideas I haven’t even thought of. I hope we as a community, could somehow communicate or campaign for this idea. Destiny deserves to continue. It has the potential to become much bigger than it is now. Books and comics would not automatically turn Destiny into the next Star Wars, but they could keep the franchise alive, active, and meaningful for a long time. At least until, hopefully, Destiny 3 eventually sees the light of day. PS. If someone knows anything about campaigning, like really, and how to get visibility to this idea, I would be interested to hear about it
