For almost 12 years destiny was the only constant thing in my life. Ups and downs at work. My wife leaving me. My brother dying. My mother being put in the nursing home from severe dementia. These last couple of months I've had very little will to live because there was nothing to do in the game to distract me and now you're telling me there's nothing left. This game was all I had...

  • Destiny 2 got me through some really hard times. Not as hard as the times Overwatch carried me through, or Sea of Thieves, but definitely some hardships in life. But Destiny 2 (and gaming in general) was part of my problem. When you feel like you have little to live for, pursue in life, or improve upon, videogames become the ultimate distraction. They allow you to escape reality in unhealthy manners that don't allow one to address the real issues that lie under the surface. Now you've clearly stated what is under the surface. And that's some real -blam!-. I highly advise seeking counseling or therapy, and having worked in that very field myself, and undergone it, I can say that it will give you tools to manage your life. But ultimately, YOU the individual have the power within yourself to overcome what plagues you. YOU are stronger than you realize. YOU have more potential than you realize. YOU have the power to overcome and achieve a life better than you ever thought possible. I don't know your age. Likely older than myself. But I assure you that YOU can make it through the trials in your present. Find a counselor/therapist. GO TO THE GYM. Go outside and literally touch grass. Walk. Get sunlight. Clean up your food choices. I don't know about you, but I've never been unhappy eating a steak and eggs. And there's biology behind why that is so. Heal with therapy and YOUR autonomy. Find purpose in yourself and the higher calling we are capable of pursuing. Your life will improve immensely. If ever need to chat, feel free to HMU. I'm not a professional counselor. And I'm going to continue to recommend pursuing one. But you aren't alone Guardian! Best of luck Guardian!

    • OP: I peaked at your stats…you’re the founder of your clan, which, like so many other clans, is withering on the vine. That’s not a you issue, it’s game wide. You have an impressive collection of Seals…GGs for that! You’ve shared some deeply personal information about the trials and tribulations of recent times; one can but empathise, and sympathise. Into every garden a little rain must fall… We’re all there, to some degree or other. Dark as the clouds may seem, Dawn’s Light will shine! Nil desperandum! 🌞 Moving on… Apparently, there’s going to be lots to do in June…and much to keep one busy thereafter…lots…🥳 And if that’s not enough, give WarFrame a go if you haven’t already done so…there’s plenty there to keep one busy and engaged. (MR24 😎) That is all. Chin up, Guardian! 🫠 Carry on 👈 Ease Springs! 🖖👻 MTFBWY

These last couple of months I've had very little will to live because there was nothing to do in the game to distract me and now you're telling me there's nothing left. This game was all I had...[/quote] I was driving down the highway the other day and saw a hoenless guy on the side of the road. No shirt. Shoes worn down and covered in holes and skin so sunburned he looked like Mr. Krabs in cargo shorts, picking up trash on the side of the road. It was hot out...and muggy, and here this dude was on the side of the road looking for God knows what. Now, you might be asking yourself "what does any of this have to do with me?" and the answer to that question is "quite a bit if you think about it". This man has less than you. He doesn't have a phone. He doesn't have a television or a console or a computer. Buddy doesn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, but he's still moving. He has less than you, and hasn't given up on surviving to see tomorrow. You're favorite game got taken away. That's tragic. It's tragic for all of us...but if that guy can keep going, you can keep going. Life's a journey, and you arent allowed to quit because bad things happen. If Destiny was the only thing you had, guess what? Now you have to go find a new thing. Make that the thing you fill your time with. Saddle back up buttercup.

      • This game was a good catharsis for many who dealt with personal inner sorrow. Your Guardian is your inner strength and your Ghost is a reminder to appreciate the moments of what you have in your life and to make them. Yeah, sad to see the game go but you at least were part of the Legend. June 9th is not an ending - it's a huge party. Eyes UP Guardian, there's a world out there. I, for one, am looking forward to explore what's out there...
