Destiny 2 EOS - Linux/SteamOS/Bazzite Allowed?

Hello, Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, so I figured I'd put it in Help as it's more likely to be seen than in the vent channel that is Feedback. That said, Will you/would your team be willing to allow linux-based users access now, seeing as your game is now shuttering itself? As a long-time fan of the game, my biggest regret when I made the switch to BazziteOS was learning that you actively block linux distro connections. I suppose my fundamental question is this: Why was it never allowed, and, as we are now at EOS, why can it not be allowed NOW? I, and I'm sure many others, would love to have one of my favourite games back in rotation, even if you are ending live service for it. • I've asked the exact same thing, please Bungie listen to us https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/265247719?sort=0&page=0 I understand that game development is incredibly complex, but from what Valve shared, it might actually be simpler than it looks for the anti-cheat part. In their official documentation regarding BattlEye on Proton, they mentioned: "All developers need to do is contact the BattlEye team to request that it be enabled for their game. This is the only operation required from the developer's side." (Source: https://store.steampowered.com/news/group/4145017/view/3104663180636096966?l=english) Since Destiny 2 is moving into its final, archived state with the Monument of Triumph, maybe this could be the perfect opportunity to consider it. It would be a wonderful way to truly welcome back all the players who want to enjoy the game on Steam Deck and Linux during this final chapter. Hopefully, the team can look into this. It would mean the world to many of us!

    • it takes more than gimping battleye to support linux. destiny has in house anticheat along with all of the other stuff to support the game. now that it is end of life, it should be clear that those resources are not going to be spent to support sub 5 percent of the market.
